Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications for Full Time Super Specialist / Part Time Super Specialist
- FTSS/PTSS (Cardiology): MBBS and MD, DM/DNB (Cardiology)
- FTSS/PTSS (Oncology): MBBS and Mch/DM/DNB in Medical Oncology
- Note: If no eligible candidate with Super Specialty qualification in oncology applies, the post of oncologist specialist with qualification in radiotherapy (MD/RT/DNB RT or Diploma in RT) with experience of 3 years for degree holder & 5 years for diploma holder may be considered in specialist scale
Qualifications for Full Time Specialist / Part Time Specialist
- PG Degree or PG Diploma in concerned Specialty. Candidates with 2 years experience after PG Degree or 3 years experience after PG Diploma in concerned specialty are not available
- PG Doctors will be given preference in Casualty Department
- Preference will be given to Post-Graduates in Critical Care. If Critical Care candidates are not available, PG candidates from Anaesthesiology/General Medicine/Pulmonary Medicine or Paediatrics may be considered
- For ICU: PG Degree or Diploma in Critical Care/Anaesthesia/General Medicine or Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine
Qualifications for Senior Resident
- PG Degree or PG Diploma in concerned specialty
- Candidates with 2 years experience after PG Degree or 3 years Senior Residence will continue and will not appear for interview for the post of Senior Resident
Essential Experience
- FTSS (Entry Level): Nil
- FTSS (Senior Level): 5 years experience in respective specialty after PG
- FTS (Entry Level) & PTS: PG Degree with years experience in respective specialty after PG, OR PG Diploma with 5 years experience in respective specialty after PG
- FTS (Senior Level): 3 years experience post PG as per rules
Salary/Stipend
Full Time Super Specialist
- Entry Level: ₹ 2,00,000/- per month
- Senior Level: ₹ 2,62,000/- per month
- Working Hours: 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM for week days and 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM on Saturdays. Should attend emergency unit on call when required
Part Time Super Specialist
- Entry Level: ₹ 1,50,000/- per month
- Senior Level: ₹ 2,00,000/- per month
- Working Hours: 4 days x 4 hours per week
- Emergency Charges: ₹ 20,000/- if willing
- Additional Remuneration: ₹ 1,500/- for every additional hour beyond 4 hours/week
- Note: Additional hours of work to be justified by Medical Superintendent
Full Time Specialist
- Entry Level (3 year experience post PG as per RR): ₹ 1,53,275/- (Consolidated for PG Degree holders)
- Senior Level (Demob officer and above): ₹ 1,76,542/- (Consolidated)
- Working Hours: 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM for week days and 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM on Saturdays. Should attend emergency unit on call when required
Part Time Specialist
- Fixed Remuneration: ₹ 60,000/- per month
- Emergency Charges: ₹ 10,000/- per month (if willing)
- Additional Remuneration: ₹ 800/- for every additional hour
- Note: Additional hours of work to be justified by Medical Superintendent
Senior Resident - 1 Year
- Total Emoluments: ₹ 1,53,275/- (Consolidated for PG Degree holders)
- Total Emoluments: ₹ 1,51,325/- (Consolidated for PG Diploma holders)
- Total Emoluments: ₹ 1,76,542/- (Consolidated for candidates having MBBS with 2 years experience in respective department)

- Full Time Super Specialist: Age not exceeding 69 years (Relaxation for reserved categories as per rules)
- Part Time Specialist: Age not exceeding 69 years
- Full Time Specialist: Age not exceeding 80 years

- Walk-in Interview will be conducted for all eligible candidates

General Instructions to Candidates
- Those who belong to SC/ST/OBC/EWS category should produce valid caste certificate issued by the competent authority not below the rank of Tahsildar
- Candidates belonging to OBC category should produce a certificate in prescribed format along with a declaration as per Government of India instructions which should certify that the candidate does not belong to creamy layer
- Private practice of any kind will not be allowed for FTS
- No TO/TA will be admissible for "walk-in interview"
- Vacancies indicated above may change as per actual requirement on date of interview
- Canvassing in any form shall be disqualification
- Only those candidates with TC/MC/MCI registered may attend walk-in interview
- If candidates are retired from state/central government hospital, they shall submit Pension Book and Pay slip of last drawn salary
- Candidates arriving after 9:15 AM will not be permitted to participate in interview process
Terms and Conditions for Full Time Contract Specialists
- Specialist shall be recruited for a period of 3 years with annual evaluation and term renewed every year thereafter as performance
- Private practice will not be allowed
- Available on call 24x7
- Specialist shall be responsible for all cases under treatment under supervision in discipline
- He/She will be entitled for leave @ 04 days for each month of work. On priority basis in a calendar year. In the event, specialist prefers only to take leave, the leave period shall be curtailed to maximum time of 30 days/year
- Selected specialist must have professional indemnity policy which should cover the period as desired by ESIC. Policy should cover professional liability failing on them as rendering professional services. Minimum sum assured per annum should be ₹ 30 lac for Anaesthesiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons etc. (3) ₹ 20 lakhs for General Surgeons, Gynaecologists, Obstetrician etc. (3) for Physicians, Dentists, Radiologists, Pathologists etc. It should be at least of ₹10 lacs. Copy of insurance policy and receipt must be submitted within 7 days from date of engagement
Terms and Conditions for Part Time Contract Specialists
- Period of contract one year from date of joining
- Minimum working hour will be 16 per week (4 Hours x 4 days Per week)
- He/She will not be entitled for any leave
- Available on call 24x7 for those who are willing to draw emergency call charges
- Specialist shall be responsible for all cases undergoing treatment under supervision in discipline
- Selected specialist must have professional indemnity policy with coverage as per rules (similar to Full Time Contract Specialists)
Payment Details
- Candidates for post of FTSS/PTSS, FTS/PTS & SR-1 Yr: Deposit cash ₹ 50/- (Rupees two hundred fifty only) for General/OBC/EWS Candidates. PwD and SC/ST units are exempted from Application Fee
- Receipt of Application Fee shall be published on hospital website: https://ernakulamhq.esic.gov.in
- Mode of Application Fee: Cash to be deposited in Account No.1 c payable at SBI, Ernakulam; PwD/Female are exempted. Scanned copy/photograph of proof of availability on hospital website
