GMRC Recruitment 2026 Qualification and Experience
Chief General Manager/General Manager (Civil)
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a government-recognized university or institute.
- Experience in metro, railway, flyover, road underbridge, bridge or multi-storeyed building construction.
- For Chief General Manager level: 23 years of post-qualification experience in a reputed private organization; or 20 years in government, Railways, PSU or Metro Rail organizations, including the prescribed executive and senior-grade experience.
- For General Manager level: 20 years of post-qualification experience in a reputed private organization; or 17 years in government, Railways, PSU or Metro Rail organizations, including at least 14 years in executive positions.
- Candidates with experience in completing projects on time as heads of site teams will be preferred.
Additional General Manager (Civil)
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in underground stations, tunnel work using TBM, tunnel design, viaducts, bridges, multi-storeyed buildings or workshop sheds.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification executive experience in government organizations or PSUs; or
- Minimum 18 years of executive experience in private-sector civil infrastructure industries.
Joint General Manager (Civil)
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Relevant experience in underground structures, tunnel works, viaducts, bridges, multi-storeyed buildings or workshop sheds.
- Minimum 14 years of post-qualification executive experience in government organizations or PSUs; or
- Minimum 16 years of relevant experience in private civil infrastructure industries.
Senior Deputy General Manager (Civil)
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in metro, railway, underground construction, rail tracks, major bridges, viaducts or related projects.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organization; or
- Minimum 11 years of relevant executive experience in government organizations or PSUs.
Deputy General Manager (Civil)
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in major bridges, railways, underground works, rail tracks, metro rail, viaducts or similar projects.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organization; or
- Minimum eight years of relevant executive experience in government organizations or PSUs.
Manager (Civil)
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in underground structures, metro stations, tunnel works, viaducts, bridges or multi-storeyed buildings.
- Minimum nine years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organization; or
- Minimum seven years of relevant executive experience in government organizations or PSUs.
Assistant Manager (Civil)
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in underground structures, tunnel work, viaducts, bridges, workshop sheds or metro rail construction.
- Minimum seven years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organization; or
- Minimum five years of relevant executive experience in government organizations or PSUs.
Engineer – Senior Grade
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in viaducts, bridges, multi-storeyed buildings, workshop sheds or related infrastructure projects.
- Minimum three years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Engineer – Junior Grade
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in viaducts, bridges, multi-storeyed buildings, workshop sheds or related infrastructure projects.
- Minimum two years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Draftsman
- Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a government-recognized university or institute.
- Minimum three years of post-qualification experience in AutoCAD and designing.
- Experience should be in large infrastructure, railway or metro rail projects.
Surveyor (Civil)
- Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a government-recognized university or institute.
- Minimum three years of post-qualification experience in civil engineering survey work.
- Candidates should be able to handle modern surveying equipment independently.
- Experience in large infrastructure projects is required.

Age and experience will be calculated as of 19 September 2026. The age limit does not apply to eligible serving GMRC employees. However, this exemption does not apply to officials re-employed after superannuation.

For candidates appointed on deputation, remuneration will be governed by the applicable standard terms and conditions. Additional benefits, group medical coverage and group personal accident insurance will be provided according to GMRC policies.
Contract Period
The initial appointment will be for a minimum period of three years. It may be extended up to five years based on performance and the applicable terms and conditions of GMRC.

Selection Process
The GMRC Civil recruitment process will include the following stages:

The document verification will be conducted before the interview. Candidates must carry their original certificates. Those who fail to produce the required original documents will not be permitted to attend the interview.
The interview will assess the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, expertise, aptitude and physical fitness. The date, time and venue of the interview will be communicated through the registered email address.

- Check your registered email for the login passcode.
- Log in to the recruitment portal.
- Select the Civil post for which you want to apply.
- Enter the required information from the latest employment details to the oldest.
- Upload the prescribed qualification, experience, age and CTC documents.
- Use the preview option to verify all the information.
- Submit the application on or before 3 October 2026.
Only online applications will be accepted. Candidates should check all information carefully because the submitted application cannot be edited.

Private-sector candidates must upload their latest CTC breakup. Applications submitted without the required CTC details will not be considered for the applied position.
