Eligibility Criteria for IIE Guwahati Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications from a recognized University/Institute:

Option 1:

• First Class or Second Class Post Graduate Degree in Commerce with specialization in Accountancy or Finance from a recognized University or Institute OR

Option 2:

• CA (Inter) / ICWA (Inter) Pass from a recognized institute

Age Limit (as on 12/02/2026)

• Maximum Age: 45 years

Age Relaxation

• OBC-NCL Candidates: As per Government of India norms (applicable only if vacancy is reserved)
• SC/ST Candidates: As per Government of India norms (applicable only if vacancy is reserved)
• PwBD Candidates: As per extant rules of Government of India
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India rules

Experience Required for Accounts Officer Post

Essential Experience (Minimum 10 Years):

Candidates must have minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in accounts matter, which includes:

Component 1:

• At least 5 years in a supervisory capacity in any Government Department / Institution / PSU / Autonomous Body / Other Organization

AND

Component 2:

• At least 5 years of service in the Pay Band of ₹9,300–34,800 with Grade Pay ₹4,600 or equivalent

Note: Candidates currently working in Central Government / State Government / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies / Other Organizations will have their experience assessed for equivalence.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Mandatory Requirements:

• Knowledge of Government of India Financial Rules and Regulations is essential
• Proven experience in computer-based accounting systems
• Proficiency in Tally Accounting Software is mandatory
• Thorough knowledge of Government of India financial rules and regulations

Selection Process for IIE Guwahati Accounts Officer 2026

The selection process will consist of the following stages:

1. Written Test / Evaluation Process (Qualifying in Nature)

   • A written test or any other evaluation process as deemed fit will be conducted
   • This will be qualifying in nature

2. Personal Interview

   • Candidates who qualify in the written test/evaluation will be called for interview
   • Final selection will be based on performance in the interview only

3. Document Verification

   • Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification

4. Medical Examination

   • Selected candidates must be found medically fit as per Institute requirements

Job Description - Accounts Officer

The Accounts Officer is a key position in the organization with the following responsibilities:

• Managing the financial book keeping of the organization
• Processing invoices and recording payments
• Tracking expenses and maintaining financial records
• Supervising other staff members who assist with book keeping duties
• Ensuring compliance with Government of India financial rules and regulations
• Performing other responsibilities as assigned by competent authority from time to time
