About the Position
ADDCWES is seeking a dynamic and accomplished researcher to serve as the Research Engineer/Scientific Officer. The selected candidate will play a key role in advancing cutting-edge research in water and environmental studies while supporting the Centre Director in various strategic and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Pursue own research in line with the centre's research focus on water security and environmental sustainability
- Assist the Centre Director in planning and execution of the centre's research activities
- Coordinate with faculty members associated with ADDCWES in developing research proposals
- Cultivate partnerships with academic, government, and industry stakeholders
- Oversee grant acquisition, budgeting, and financial reporting for research projects
- Promote a culture of research excellence and innovation within the Centre
- Plan and conduct professional training programmes and related academic activities
- Initiate projects towards societal good and community engagement addressing local, national, and global water and environmental challenges
- Involvement in professional consultancy with associated faculty members
- Undertake any other activities aligned with the objectives of the Centre
Essential Qualifications
- PhD in Engineering/Science or equivalent degree with good academic record
- Demonstrated experience in research and development in relevant fields
Desirable Qualifications
- Post-doctoral research experience
- Publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in project management and team leadership
- Expertise in water resources, environmental engineering, or related domains
