Eligibility Criteria
For Assistant Professor Grade II (only for Engineering Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences): Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate area/branch with excellent academic record throughout and proven track record of outstanding research ability.
For Assistant Professor Grade II: Candidates with less than three years of post-PhD industrial / research / teaching experience may be considered for this post.
For Assistant Professor Grade I: Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate area/branch with excellent academic record throughout and proven track record of outstanding research ability.
For Assistant Professor Grade I: Candidates with at least three years of post-PhD industrial / research / teaching experience may be considered for this post.
The qualifications prescribed should have been obtained after attending regular courses from recognized Universities/Institutions.
For Associate Professor: Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout, in addition to a proven track record of excellent research ability and leadership skills.
For Associate Professor: Minimum 6 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade-I / Senior Scientific Officer / Senior Design Engineer.
For Professor: Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout, in addition to a proven track record of outstanding research ability and leadership skills.
For Professor: Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institution/Institutions of comparable standards as decided by the Institute.
Salary/Stipend
Assistant Professor Grade II: Pay Level 10 with initial pay of ₹70,900/-.
After one year of post-Ph.D. experience, candidates in Assistant Professor Grade II can be placed in Pay Level 11, subject to performance evaluation.
Assistant Professor Grade I: Pay Level 12 with initial pay of ₹1,01,500/-.
Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A2 with an initial pay of ₹1,39,600/-.
Professor: Pay Level 14A with an initial pay of ₹1,59,100/-.
Candidates possessing the degree of Ph.D. in the relevant discipline and with regular service of 3 years at Pay Level 12 shall be considered for placement to Pay Level 13A1, subject to evaluation of performance.
In addition to Pay, other allowances like DA, HRA, TA, and telephone reimbursement shall be as per the Institute / Government of India norms from time to time.
Suitable residential accommodation located on the campus shall be provided as per Institute rules, subject to availability, or HRA will be paid as per rules in case of non-availability.

Selection Process
Applications received for a particular Department are shortlisted by the Departmental Faculty Affairs Committee (DFAC) based on overall suitability, including the application, seminar, and inputs from faculty members of the Department.
The Institute Faculty Affairs Committee (IFAC) reviews the report submitted by the DFAC and takes a decision on further shortlisting of candidates for an interview.
Selection of candidates is likely to be made periodically depending upon the number of applications and department requirements.
The eligibility criteria indicated are bare minimum and mere fulfillment does not entitle candidates to be called for interview; the Institute may restrict the number of candidates based on qualification and experience higher than the minimum prescribed.
All shortlisted candidates will be required to appear in-person for the interview; candidates living outside India may be permitted to appear online if they have recently visited the Institute for a seminar or other interactions with the concerned Department.
General Information/Instructions
Regular faculty positions are open to Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI); appointment of Foreign Nationals for a fixed period on contract basis is permissible.
The Institute reserves the right to relax eligibility criteria in exceptional cases, consider candidates who have not formally applied in response to the advertisement, and fill the position at a lower or higher level than that advertised.
Relaxation in age, educational qualification and/or experience will be considered in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates with the prior approval of the Competent Authority.
