Important Instructions for Candidates
- Freeze vs Float: Candidates who select "Freeze" after Round 1 allotment exit the counselling process and must join that college; those who select "Float" remain eligible for Round 2 while keeping their Round 1 seat as a fallback.
- No reversion of seats: Once Round 2 counselling is complete, seats allotted to states are not reverted back to MCC.
- Upgradation: The facility to upgrade an allotted seat remains available up to Round 3 counselling.
- Round 3 restriction: Candidates are not permitted to resign from AIQ/Deemed/Central University seats once allotted in Round 3, and cannot participate in further counselling after joining through Round 3.
- Missed reporting deadline: Failing to report within the joining window typically results in forfeiture of the allotted seat and, in many cases, the security deposit - keep all documents ready in advance.
- Always cross-check dates on mcc.nic.in directly, as counselling schedules are occasionally revised.
