NLCIL Security Guard Recruitment 2025 Vacancy Details 

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have served in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force, holding the rank of Havildar / Petty Officer / Sergeant or below ranks in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force respectively, before discharge.
• Candidates must possess minimum educational qualification of Pass in X Std. / SSLC / Matriculation from a recognized Board.
• Candidates should have worked in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force for at least 15 years as on the crucial date and should also have registered with the District Sainik Welfare Board as on the crucial date.
• Only those candidates whose Performance Rating is at least ‘Very Good’ and Medical Category is “AYE” or “SHAPE – I” on retirement, as mentioned in the Discharge certificate/Book from Indian Armed Forces, are eligible to apply.
• Desirable qualifications include proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the local language (Tamil) and knowledge of playing band instruments in the Armed Forces.
• Only Indian Nationals who have acquired the notified qualification from appropriate statutory authority in India are eligible to apply.

Salary/Stipend

• The pay scale for the post of Security Guard in W-3 grade is ₹ 20,000 – 81,000.
• The approximate Cost to Company (CTC) per annum is ₹ 5.47 lakhs.
• In addition to the CTC, selected candidates will be eligible for Unified Incentive Scheme (annually) as per rules.
• Medical treatment for self and dependents and Group Insurance will be provided as per company rules.
• Eligible type of unfurnished residential accommodation will be provided at standard rent in Company Townships, subject to availability.

Age Limit (as on 01-12-2025)

• Upper age limit for Security Guard (W-3) as on 01/12/2025: UR – 43 years, EWS – 43 years, OBC(NCL) – 46 years, SC – 48 years, ST – 43 years.
• Age relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and SC candidates is as per Government of India guidelines and is applicable only when valid caste certificates are uploaded at the time of registration.
• Candidates belonging to ST category can apply against UR vacancies and will be considered under general standard of merit without age relaxation.
• OBC(NCL)/SC/ST candidates applying against UR vacancies will be considered under general standard of merit and no age relaxation will be extended.

Application Fee

• Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
• Ex-servicemen candidates are required to pay a non-refundable amount of INR 236/- (inclusive of 18% GST) towards processing fee.
• Payment of processing fee must be made through the prescribed online mode within the time limits specified in the important dates section.

Important Dates

Selection Process

• Only candidates who produce all necessary original documents and are found eligible during document verification will be allowed to attend the further selection process (Written Test & Physical Test).
• Selection will be based on Written Test (100 marks – 70% weightage), Service Weightage and Performance Rating (20 marks – 15% weightage) and Physical Test (30 marks – 15% weightage).
• The Written Test will be for 100 marks with three parts: Part-I (40 questions of General Awareness), Part-II (30 questions of Quantitative Aptitude) and Part-III (30 questions of Logical Reasoning), comprising 100 objective type questions with equal marks and no negative marking; duration is 120 minutes and the question paper will be in English language only.
• Service Weightage is awarded based on years of service: above 20 years – 10 marks; above 18 years and up to 20 years – 8 marks; above 15 years and up to 18 years – 5 marks; Performance Rating based on entry in Discharge Book: Excellent/Outstanding – 10 marks, Very Good – 8 marks (maximum 20 marks).
• Physical Test consists of Walk/Run (1.6 kms), Sit-up and Push-up, each graded as Excellent, Good and Pass with marks 10, 7 and 5 respectively, for a maximum total of 30 marks; candidates must pass all three tests to be considered for final selection.
• Minimum qualifying marks in Written Test are 50 out of 100 for UR/EWS candidates and 40 out of 100 for SC/OBC(NCL) candidates against reserved posts; only those who secure minimum qualifying marks in Written Test are eligible for Physical Test.
• Project Affected Persons (PAPs) of NLCIL Neyveli Projects will be allowed 20 bonus marks in the Written Test, limited to one beneficiary per award, subject to prescribed conditions and supporting documents.
• Final selection will be in order of merit based on total marks in Written Test, Service Weightage & Performance Rating and Physical Test, subject to candidates securing minimum qualifying marks in each component and meeting category-wise requirements; tie cases will be resolved first by date of birth (elder candidates placed higher) and then by alphabetical order of first name.

General Information/Instructions

• NLC India Limited is a premier ‘NAVRATNA’ Government of India Enterprise, and applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Security Guard in W-3 grade for NLCIL Neyveli Units.
