OPSC Assistant Professor Interview Schedule 2026 – Schedule, Marks & Documents

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), Cuttack, has shortlisted candidates for interview for the post of Assistant Professor (Stage-I) in Political Science, under the OES (College Branch), pursuant to Advertisement No. 27 of 2023-2024. The interviews will be held over three days at the Commission's office in Cuttack. A separate, earlier OPSC notice (No. 1306/PSC, dated 02.03.2026) lays down the marks distribution, qualifying marks, and documents required for the interview process across all Assistant Professor (Stage-I) disciplines, including Political Science.

Important Dates

• 02 March 2026 – OPSC issues Notice No. 1306/PSC laying down interview modalities, marks distribution, and documents required.
• 02 September 2026 – OPSC issues Notice No. 4959/PSC announcing the shortlist and interview schedule.
• 17 September 2026 – Interview Day 1 (10:30 AM and 2:30 PM sessions).
• 18 September 2026 – Interview Day 2 (10:30 AM and 2:30 PM sessions).
• 19 September 2026 – Interview Day 3 (10:30 AM and 2:30 PM sessions).

Documents Required for the OPSC Assistant Professor Interview

Candidates must carry the following documents to the interview, as per Notice No. 1306/PSC:

• A list of articles/publications (Annexure-I format).
• A list of books authored and co-authored (Annexure-II format).
• Photocopies, in 4 sets, of the best 4 original publications/articles where the candidate is the first or second author only.
• 4 sets of the best 2 books originally authored or co-authored by the candidate.
• A brief synopsis of the PhD thesis, in 2 pages, submitted in 4 sets (Annexure-III format).
• List of participation in National/International seminars or workshops (Annexure-IV format).
• List of International/National/State-level awards received (Annexure-V format).

Original Documents for Scrutiny

In addition to the above, candidates must bring the following in original for verification by the concerned section before the interview:

• Original PhD Thesis, Research Publications, and Books.
• Original documents relating to participation in National/International Seminars/Workshops.
• Original documents relating to International/National/State-level Awards.

Interview Day Instructions

• Candidates must report to the OPSC office two hours before the scheduled commencement of their interview session.
• The Pedagogy Skill component is part of the interview. Candidates must come prepared to present a topic of their choice within 8 to 10 minutes before the Interview Board. A whiteboard will be provided by the Commission.
• Separately, as per Notice No. 1306/PSC, candidates may also be asked to take a demo class of a maximum of 7 to 8 minutes on the whiteboard, on a topic either chosen by them or assigned by the Board, to test their pedagogical skills.
• Allotment of the Interview Board is done through a draw of lots conducted by each candidate in the presence of all other candidates.
• The draw of lots for the 1st sitting is held from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, and for the 2nd sitting from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
• Candidates who do not report before the draw of lots closes will have their Board allotted through a draw of lots conducted by any one of the candidates present.
• The interview is an identity-less process. No personal particulars such as name, roll number, or any information that could reveal a candidate's identity are disclosed to the Interview Board. Each candidate appears before the Board using a system-generated Code Number.

Important Instructions

• Candidature for recruitment is purely provisional and is liable for rejection at any stage during or after the selection process if any inadequacy or deficiency is found.
• The candidature is subject to fulfillment of the terms and conditions laid down in the original Advertisement No. 27 of 2023-2024.
• Mere participation in the interview does not reserve any right for selection.
