SSSB Punjab Craft Instructor Educational and Technical Qualification
All 52 trades require, at minimum, 10th pass with Science and Mathematics under the 10+2 system from a recognized School or Board. Beyond this common academic requirement, the technical qualification follows one of two pathways depending on which annexure the trade falls under:
Pathway 1: Degree/Diploma Trades (Annexure-A)
- A relevant Bachelor's Degree/B.Voc in the corresponding engineering discipline from an AICTE/UGC-recognized institution, plus one year of relevant industry or teaching experience; OR
- A 3-year Diploma in the corresponding discipline from an AICTE-recognized institution or relevant Advanced Diploma (Vocational) from the Director General of Training, plus two years of relevant industry or teaching experience.
- The exact engineering/technology discipline required (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical, Textile, Agriculture Engineering, etc.) varies by trade - see the full notification for trade-specific requirements.
- Degree/Diploma holders selected under this category must acquire the National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC) in their respective trade within three years of appointment, failing which their service will be terminated.
Pathway 2: NTC/NAC Trades (Annexure-B)
- A National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the corresponding trade from a recognized institution;
- A National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC) in the corresponding trade; and
- Three years of relevant experience in an organization registered under the Factories Act, 1948, or teaching experience in a government or government-recognized institution.
Additional Mandatory Conditions
- Punjabi Language: As per Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994, candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi language examination.
- Cut-off date for qualifications: All required educational and technical qualifications must be completed on or before the last date of application submission (30-07-2026).
- Departmental (Practical) Examination: After appointment, Craft Instructors must undergo practical industry training and pass a practical examination conducted by the Government, within three attempts over three years from appointment. Failure may result in termination or reversion to a prior post.

SSSB Punjab Craft Instructor Salary
Selected Craft Instructors (across all trades listed in Annexure-A and Annexure-B) will be placed on Rs. 35,400/- (Level-6) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission scale, subject to applicable allowances as notified by the Finance Department, Government of Punjab.

SSSB Punjab Craft Instructor Reservation Policy
- Reservation benefits are available only to candidates domiciled in Punjab State.
- A Domicile/Residence Certificate is mandatory for every candidate (regardless of category) and must not be older than 5 years at the time of upload/submission.
- SC/BC/Ex-Serviceman/EWS certificates must conform to prevailing Government of Punjab instructions.
- Reservation for women is governed by the Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules, 2020, and subsequent amendments.
- Ex-Serviceman category posts will first be filled by Ex-Serviceman (Self) candidates; only if unavailable will they be filled by Ex-Serviceman (Dependent) candidates, per Government of Punjab notification dated 08-05-2020.
SSSB Punjab Craft Instructor Selection Process
- Candidates who successfully apply will be called for an Objective Type (Multiple Choice Question) written examination.
- The merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the written exam. Each correct answer carries 1 mark; each wrong answer attracts a negative marking of ¼ mark.
- In case of a tie in merit, preference is given first to the candidate with the older date of birth. If still tied, preference goes to the candidate with a higher percentage in the required educational qualification. If still tied, preference goes to the candidate with higher marks in Matriculation.
- Based on the merit list, candidates are called for counseling and document/certificate verification. The number of candidates called is decided by the Board based on category-wise vacancy count.
- Being shortlisted for the exam, appearing for it, or being called for counseling does not itself confer any right to selection - final recommendation depends on the candidate proving their eligibility in all respects.
- Candidates in the Sports category will have their merit determined as per Punjab Sports Department notification dated 09-03-2026 and subsequent instructions.
Grounds for Disqualification / Cancellation of Candidature
- Fee not received in full, or not deposited through the prescribed method
- Incomplete or incorrect information furnished in the application
- Not completing the full online application process
- Previously debarred by SSSB or any other institution
- Not fulfilling educational qualification, age, reservation, or other recruitment conditions
- Applying through any method other than the official online process on the Board's website
- Applying under a category/code for which no post exists in this advertisement
- Application from serving Central/State Government employees not routed through the proper channel

How to Apply Online for SSSB Punjab Craft Instructor Recruitment 2026
- Visit the Board's website at sssb.punjab.gov.in and click the "Apply Online" link between 10-07-2026 and 30-07-2026. Applications through any other method will not be accepted.
- New candidates (without an existing login) click "Registration" and fill in their details to generate a User ID and Password. The User ID will be the email ID used during registration.
- After successful registration, log in using the registered Email ID and password to proceed with the application.
- Fill in personal, educational, and other required details completely and accurately.
- Upload a passport-sized photograph (or capture live via camera) and a scanned copy of your signature.
- Click "Save Draft" or "Next," then click "Attach Annexure" to upload your 10th class certificate, educational qualification certificates, and other mandatory documents.
- Click "Save Documents," then proceed to "Make Payment" to pay the online application fee.
- After successful fee payment, click "Submit" to complete the application. The full application form will be displayed on screen.
- Take a printout of the submitted application form and retain it for future reference.
- Note: A saved but incomplete draft application can be resumed via "Menu > View Status of Application > View Incomplete Application."
Important: Once submitted, no correction is possible under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to fill the form themselves rather than through a cyber café or third party, since no correction request will be entertained after submission. If the online fee transaction fails for any reason, the application is treated as not submitted, and the fee already paid is non-refundable.
