AIIMS Gorakhpur Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Post graduate medical degree in the respective discipline from an NMC recognized University/Institute.
• NMC/MCI/State Medical Council registration is mandatory before joining, if selected.
• For Trauma & Emergency department, candidates having MD/MS/DNB in Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery or Orthopedics will be considered.
• Candidates must have been declared successful in their qualifying degree examination and must be completing their tenure for the same before the date of interview.
• Applicants should not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency under the Residency Scheme in any Government medical institution, whether on regular or on ad-hoc/contract basis.

Salary / Stipend

• Rs. 67,700/- (Level-11, Cell No. 01 as per 7th CPC) plus usual allowances including NPA (if applicable) for Senior Resident (Group “A”).

Age Limit 

• Upper age limit: 45 years.
• Age will be counted as on the date of interview.
• Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
• For Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): relaxation up to 10 years for General Category, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.
• No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.

• General/EWS/OBC: Rs. 500/-.
• SC/ST: Rs. 250/-.
• PwBD: Application fee exempted.
• Application fee is non-refundable.

Important Dates

Selection Process

• Selection will be made on the basis of interview conducted at AIIMS Gorakhpur.
• If a large number of applications are received, shortlisting of candidates for interview will be done based on a written test.
• The decision of the Executive Director, AIIMS Gorakhpur regarding selection and shortlisting shall be final and binding.
• Based on bio-data, the Search cum Selection Committee may also shortlist candidates for interview.

General Information / Instructions

• The appointment is initially for a period of 1 year which may be extended up to 3 years depending on performance and conduct.
• The vacancies are provisional and subject to variation; the Executive Director, AIIMS Gorakhpur reserves the right to vary vacancies including reserved vacancies as per Government of India rules and requirements.
• The appointment shall be as per Government of India’s Residency Scheme and can be terminated at any time on either side by giving one month’s notice or by paying one month’s salary.
• The appointee will be on whole-time appointment of AIIMS and shall not accept any other assignment or engage in private practice during the period of contract.
• Applicants working in Central/State Government/Semi Government/Autonomous Institutions must produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of interview.
• Self-attested photocopies and relevant original documents (degrees, certificates, mark sheets, age proof, caste certificates etc.) along with the filled application form must be produced for verification at the time of interview.
• Incomplete applications in any respect will be summarily rejected.
• The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.
• Submission of any false information or suppression of facts will lead to removal from service and any other action as deemed fit by the appointing authority.
• All disputes will be subject to jurisdiction of Courts at Gorakhpur.
• Names of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the institute website only; no individual intimation will be sent.

How to Apply

• Download and fill the prescribed application form (Annexure I) and Bio-data (Annexure II) as per the notification.
• Pay the applicable application fee through NEFT and mention the transaction reference number and date in the application form.
• Appear for the walk-in interview on 11/02/2026 at the Administrative Block, AIIMS Campus, Kunraghat, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh-273008.
• Report between 09:30 AM and 11:30 AM on the scheduled date of interview.
• Bring the filled application form, Bio-data, original documents, self-attested photocopies, payment receipt and No Objection Certificate (if applicable) for verification.
• Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate applications for each post.
