BEL Senior Engineer Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Full-time B.E / B.Tech in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering from AICTE approved college/institute or recognized university with minimum First Class.
- OR full-time M.E / M.Tech in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering from AICTE approved college/institute or recognized university with minimum First Class.
- Discipline/specialization mentioned in the degree certificate must match exactly with the prescribed discipline, otherwise candidature may be rejected.
Post-Qualification Experience (as on 01.02.2026)
- For B.E/B.Tech candidates: Minimum 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience in industry or defence laboratories.
- For M.E/M.Tech candidates: Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in industry or defence laboratories.
- Experience period is counted from the month following the final examination of the qualifying degree.
Essential Experience Areas
- Design of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), including modelling, structural analysis and thermal analysis.
- Design of UAV subsystems, prototyping and evaluation, and system engineering of aerial vehicles.
- Design of composite and metal structures, including manufacturing processes and structural testing.
- Design of control systems for aerial vehicles and thermal analysis of aerospace structures.
- Experience in aero-modelling or hardware projects related to aerial platforms.
- Schematic diagram generation, PCB design and testing.
- Ability to interface with evolving product requirements and airframe design revisions.
Desirable Experience
- End-to-end solution development starting from high-level system requirements to final product realization.
- Planning design activities and delivering functionalities through multi-stage design and review processes.
- Design document review, guidance system and autopilot design and analysis for aerial vehicles.
- Knowledge of communication systems used in aerospace/UAV applications.
- Programming experience in C/C++, Python, ROS, ML and AI.

BEL Senior Engineer Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process
Step 1: Application Screening
- Applications will be screened based on eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, experience and supporting documents.
- All details filled in the application form must match exactly with the attached documents.
- Incomplete applications or those without required enclosures are liable to be rejected without further notice.
Step 2: Written Test
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Written Test at BEL, Bengaluru.
- Passing marks in Written Test: 35% for General category, 30% for SC/PwBD candidates.
- Weight of the written test will be considered for final selection alongside interview marks.
Step 3: Interview
- Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:7 (category-wise) based on written test performance.
- Interview will carry 15 marks with passing marks 35% for General and 30% for SC/PwBD candidates.
- Interview will be conducted at BEL, Bengaluru, and outstation candidates will be reimbursed III Tier AC train fare as per rules.
Final Selection Criteria
- Final merit list will be prepared category-wise combining Written Test and Interview scores.
- List of candidates shortlisted for Written Test and Interview will be uploaded on BEL website only; no individual call letters by post.
- Fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection or shortlisting for further stages.
Important Notes on Experience
