Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (Material Science, Polymer Science, or equivalent).
- B.Tech in Food Science & Technology.
- B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
- M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology.
- M.Sc (Chemistry) or equivalent.
- Desirable: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Diploma from CIPET or equivalent, with hands-on expertise in film extrusion process.
- Desirable: Working experience in Polymer Film Extrusion, Twin extruder.
- Desirable: Master’s Degree in Material Science/ Polymer Science/Plastic technology or equivalent will be preferred.
- Candidates should not have exceeded 35 years of age as on the last date of receiving the applications i.e. 26th January 2026.
- Only those candidates who have already acquired the essential qualification & their results have been declared are eligible to apply.
- Applicants who have completed the total tenure of 6 years in any of the CSIR Lab/Instt. as Project Staff are not eligible to apply for the aforesaid positions.
Salary / Stipend
- Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA for those candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET, GATE etc.).
- Rs. 25,000/- plus HRA to others.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 35 years.
- Relaxation in age limit for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Women is 05 years.
- Relaxation in age limit for candidates belonging to OBC is 03 years.

Selection Process
- The applicants will be subjected to shortlisting by designated committee according to the current requirement.
- The candidates shortlisted for interview will be displayed on CSIR-CFTRI website.
- No TA/DA will be given to the candidates for attending the interview.
- In the event of large number of applications, the committee may shortlist candidates based on percentage of marks in essential qualification, higher educational qualifications, desirable qualification/experience, or any other methodology deemed fit.
- Based upon the performance of candidates in the interview, result of selected candidates will be declared and posted on CFTRI website.
- Selection for engagement, panel of waitlisted candidates and its validity will be as per CSIR rules vide OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024 as amended from time to time.
General Information / Instructions
- Engagement is purely on temporary contractual basis and co-terminus with the project tenure or 6 years whichever is earlier.
- Candidates who have already served CSIR-CFTRI or any other CSIR lab/institute as Project Staff for a total period of 6 years or more are not eligible.
- Engagement will not provide any right/claim for regularization for a permanent post of CSIR-CFTRI/CSIR.
- If the candidate is already working in CSIR/CSIR-CFTRI, a “NOC” from the current PI is mandatory.
- Engagement may be extended or curtailed based on conduct, performance and requirement of the institute and will not be beyond the tenure of the project.
- The posts advertised are provisional and subject to ascertaining availability of funds under the respective project before declaration of results and issue of engagement letter.
- The performance of the Project Staff would be reviewed periodically and engagement may be terminated at any time without assigning any reasons.
- CSIR-CFTRI reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the offer of engagement in case of any discrepancy found in the candidature.
- Candidates must ensure they fulfil the essential qualifications/experience; misleading information may lead to rejection at any stage.
- Other terms and conditions will be governed as per guidelines issued by CSIR/funding agency for engagement of project staff as amended from time to time.
- The Director, CSIR-CFTRI reserves the right to amend, delete and add terms & conditions, cancel the advertisement, or not fill up the posts; number of vacancies may increase or decrease at the time of selection.
- Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post.
