These vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease as per the actual requirement for teaching and patient care. The Competent Authority reserves the right to amend, cancel, or change this advertisement, wholly or in part, without assigning any reason or prior notice. Reservation for all posts will be as per Government of India guidelines issued from time to time, and reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWD) follows prevailing GoI guidelines, with unfilled PWD vacancies carried forward.
Eligibility Criteria: Qualification and Experience
Eligibility for these posts is based on updated medical registration, post-MBBS qualifications, and experience as per the latest NMC norms, with different requirements for faculty posts, Senior Resident, and the Homeopathy Physician post.
For Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident
- Educational Qualification: As per the latest NMC Gazette notification dated 30.06.2026 for all advertised posts.
- Experience Criteria: As per the latest NMC Gazette notification dated 30.06.2025 for all advertised posts.
- All candidates must have updated Medical Registration (NMC/State Medical Council) along with all post-MBBS/MD/MS qualifications. If a candidate does not have updated registration, they must submit a copy of the "applied for" document at the time of interview; failing this, they may not be interviewed, or their result may be withheld even if allowed to appear.
- Even after selection, candidates must submit an updated Medical Registration Certificate at the time of joining.
- Candidates working in Government/Autonomous/Statutory institutions should preferably carry a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview, or a copy of the "applied for NOC" if not immediately available.
For Homeopathy Physician
- BHMS from a recognized university; preference will be given to candidates with a PG qualification.
- Experience certificate, if any, should be from a Government institution.
- Must be registered with the Maharashtra Medical Council or the Medical Council of India. Candidates registered in another state must register with the Maharashtra Medical Council at the time of joining.
Age Limit
The maximum age differs by post type, with additional relaxation available only for the Homeopathy Physician post. All age limits are calculated as on 30.06.2026 and verified again on the date of interview.
- Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (faculty posts): Not exceeding 68 years as on the date of interview.
- Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years as on the date of interview.
- Homeopathy Physician: Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview, with age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
The maximum tenure of engagement for teaching faculty will be till 70 years of age, or 1 year extendable up to 3 years subject to satisfactory performance, whichever is earlier.
Salary and Pay Scale

Other allowances include DA, NPA, TA, HRA, etc. For the Homeopathy Physician post, the emolument is Rs. 50,000 per month for 5 hours a day, 6 days a week, with no other allowance in any form admissible. Retired employees/pensioners engaged under this notification may draw their total pay without deduction, as this is not treated as re-employment under the CCS (Fixation of Pay of Re-employed Pensioner) Orders, 1986, and they can continue to draw pension and dearness relief during the contract period.

Selection Process

Terms of Contract
These are contractual engagements with specific conditions on tenure, termination, and service benefits that differ from a regular government job. Candidates should review these carefully before applying.
- The tenure for all posts is 1 year, extendable up to 3 years subject to satisfactory performance on a contract basis, or attainment of 68 years of age, whichever is earlier.
- The engagement can be terminated or discontinued from either side with one month's prior notice, without assigning any reason. In case of spot resignation, one month's salary must be deposited to the ESI account through challan.
- No claim for service benefits such as PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Medical Benefits, Seniority, or Promotion will be admissible.
- Being a contractual appointment, absence from work for more than 7 days without proper permission from the competent authority will be treated as voluntary abandonment of engagement and result in automatic termination.
- Teaching faculty are required to mark attendance manually as well as on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily on scheduled working days.
- No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining as teaching faculty or Senior Resident at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Andheri East, Mumbai.
- No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the interview or for submission of any document.
