Important Provision on Reserved Category Posts

ESIC Varanasi Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 03.08.2026)

• Teaching Faculty (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor): 69 years (not exceeding)
• Senior Resident: Up to 45 years
• Tutor: Up to 40 years

The maximum tenure of engagement will be till the candidate attains 70 years of age for teaching faculty, whichever is earlier, provided other rules and regulations are satisfied.

Educational Qualification

Educational qualifications for all posts are as per NMC (MCI) guidelines, as stipulated in Gazette Notification No. CG-DL-E-05072025-264399 dated 30.06.2025. The notification does not specify post-wise degree requirements beyond this reference; candidates should refer to the applicable NMC regulations for their respective specialty.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Reservation will be as per Government of India guidelines issued from time to time.
• As per EWS guidelines, EWS posts are not carried forward. In case of non-availability of an EWS candidate, other category candidates may be allowed provisionally to apply, subject to being considered as UR candidates, with selection made purely on merit.
• In case of non-availability of reserved category candidates for an advertised post, the vacancy may be filled for less than 45 days as a de-reserved seat.
• All candidates must have updated Medical Registration (NMC/State Medical Council) for all post-MBBS/MD/MS qualifications. If registration is not updated, candidates must show "Applied for document(s)" proof at the time of interview; failing this, they may not be interviewed, or their result may be withheld. Selected candidates must submit the updated Medical Registration Certificate at the time of joining.
• Candidates working in Government/Autonomous/Statutory institutions should preferably carry a "No Objection Certificate (NOC)" from their employer at the time of interview; if unavailable, a copy of the "applied for NOC" should be submitted.
• No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining as teaching faculty at ESIC Medical College, Pandeypur, Varanasi.
• Reservation for PH (Divyangjan) candidates will be maintained as per Government of India norms.

ESIC Varanasi Teaching Faculty Salary 2026

Pay and allowances are as per OM No. Z-11012/51/2022-Med VI dated 08.12.2022:

In the case of engagement of retired employees/pensioners, they may be allowed to draw total pay without any deduction, as this is not treated as a case of re-employment under the Central Civil Services (Fixation of Pay of Re-Employed Pensioner) Orders, 1986. Such retired employees/pensioners can continue to draw pension and dearness relief on pension during their period of contractual engagement.

ESIC Varanasi Recruitment 2026 - Application Fee

Mode of Payment: Through Demand Draft in favor of "ESI Fund A/c No.-1", payable at Varanasi. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Terms of Contract

• Tenure of all posts is 1 (one) year, extendable up to 3 years, or attainment of 70 years of age, whichever is earlier.
• The contractual engagement may be terminated/discontinued from either side by giving one month's prior notice, without assigning any reason. In case of spot resignation by a selected candidate, one month's salary must be deposited to the ESIC account through challan.
• No claim for service benefits such as PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Medical Benefits, Seniority, or Promotion will be admissible.
• Being a contractual appointment, absence from work for a period beyond 7 (seven) days without proper permission of the competent authority will amount to voluntary abandonment of engagement and automatic termination.
• Teaching faculty are required to mark attendance manually as well as on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily during scheduled working days.
• Other terms and conditions will be applicable as issued by the Competent Authority from time to time.
