Eligibility Criteria & Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Core Education: Must have passed the Intermediate (Class 12) examination from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, or any equivalent examination recognized by the Government.
  • Typing Speed: Minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi and 30 words per minute in English is mandatory.
  • Computer Certificate: A CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) certificate issued by DOEACC Society (now NIELIT) or an equivalent certificate from any government-recognized institution is required.

Equivalent Qualifications Accepted

  • Candidates who opted for Computer Science as a separate subject in High School or Intermediate examination (UP Board or any Central/State Government Board) are also eligible.
  • Candidates who have obtained a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science from a recognized institution are also eligible for recruitment.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 40 years as on July 1, 2026.

Note: Only permanent residents (Domicile) of Uttar Pradesh are eligible for reserved posts (both horizontal and vertical reservation). Persons dismissed from Union or State Government service are not eligible for appointment.

GIMS Selection Methodology

  1. Stage 1 - Computer Based Test (CBT): An objective-type MCQ exam of 100 marks divided into 5 sections for a total duration of 120 minutes (2 hours). Sections cover Hindi language proficiency & writing ability, general intelligence, general knowledge, computer knowledge, and UP-specific general knowledge. Candidates cannot go back to a previous section once it is submitted.
  2. Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted for every wrong answer. No negative marking for unanswered questions.
  3. Stage 2 - Typing Test: Candidates equal to 3 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted from the CBT merit list and called for a typing test. A minimum speed of 25 wpm (Hindi) and 30 wpm (English) is required. This test is qualifying in nature.
  4. Final Merit List: Prepared on the basis of CBT marks for candidates who qualify the typing test.
  5. Tie-Breaking: In case of equal marks - total CBT marks → date of birth (older candidate gets priority) → fewer wrong answers → marks in the Hindi section → earlier application number.
  6. Exam Cities: Gautam Buddha Nagar, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Agra, Jhansi, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Varanasi.

  1. Visit the official institute website at www.gims.ac.in from June 4, 2026 onwards.
  2. Click on the Online Application link for Advertisement No. GIMS/2026/Manpower/NT-02/07 and select the desired post (Record Keeper or Store Keeper).

No. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the written test or document verification.
