Consent Form & Consent Deposit - What Every Candidate Must Know
This is one step most candidates overlook, and missing it means your application is cancelled. GPSC requires all registered candidates to submit a Consent Form and pay a Consent Deposit to confirm they will actually appear for the exam. This is separate from the application fee.

|---|---|
| General (Unreserved) Male | ₹500 + ₹4.72 transaction charge = ₹504.72 |

How to pay: Go to gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in → HOME PAGE → "CONSENT" menu → "CONSENT FOR EXAM" → Enter Confirmation Number + Birth Date + CAPTCHA → Click OK → Agree and Pay.
Window: June 5, 2026 (1:00 PM) to June 20, 2026 (10:00 AM). The link closes permanently after this time - no late payment or exceptions.
What happens if you appear for the exam? Your Consent Deposit is refunded to the same bank account used for payment. If you are absent, the amount is forfeited. Make sure the bank account you use is active - refunds cannot be processed to closed or dormant accounts.

What to Do If You Face Technical Issues While Applying
- If your payment went through but the application shows pending: Go to the FEES MODULE → "CHECK YOUR PAYMENT STATUS" on the portal to verify and update your status.
- If you cannot download the call letter despite paying the fee: Contact GPSC office in person before the day prior to the exam, or email [email protected] with proof of payment, Advertisement Number, Confirmation Number, and Application Number.
- If your Consent Deposit was paid but receipt did not generate: Go to CONSENT → CONSENT FOR EXAM → enter your details → "CHECK YOUR PAYMENT STATUS." If still unresolved, repeat the Consent Deposit payment process to generate a new receipt.
- Do not wait for the last date - the portal may experience heavy traffic near deadlines. GPSC bears no responsibility for last-minute technical failures.
Tips for Candidates Appearing in GPSC AE Prelim 2026
- Start with the Concerned Subject (Part-2) preparation immediately - it carries 200 out of 300 marks and is the primary differentiator.
- The General Studies paper (Part-1) is common for both AE (Civil) and AE (Mechanical) candidates. Focus on Gujarat-specific topics, current affairs, and standard GS topics from GPSC's published syllabus at gpsc.gujarat.gov.in.
- The 15% minimum threshold in the Preliminary Test is relatively easy to clear, but the actual competition begins at 40–50% scores where interview shortlisting happens. Aim well above the minimum.
- Candidates applying for both R&B Department and Gujarat Maritime Board posts should note that the Prelim exam dates are shared (July 26 and August 30) - you will take the same papers but need to be registered under each advertisement.
- Review the syllabus on gpsc.gujarat.gov.in before starting your preparation - GPSC publishes subject-wise topics for the Concerned Subject paper.
