Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications: 10th Standard (SSC) pass from government recognized board.
- Essential qualifications: Knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi languages; Knowledgeable in cooking work including use of various cooking appliances like chimney, induction, oven, microwave, grills, toasters, fryers, steamers, kettle, food-processors, refrigerators etc.; Knowledge of various types of spices and herbs used in cooking and their proper use; Knowledge of all types of multi-cuisine along with Gujarati, Punjabi, South Indian, Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian, Chinese, Continental, Italian etc. and knowledge of making all types of fast food; Ability to cook proportionally (without wastage) for more persons while maintaining taste, decoration and cleanliness; Knowledge of arrangement/decoration and plating and presentation while serving the cooked food in addition to cooking.
- Desirable: For Head Cook: Course in cooking art like ITI/Certificate/Diploma/Degree from any reputed institution recognized by Central or State Government; Experience as cook in Gujarat High Court. For Attendant-cum-Cook: Course in cooking art like ITI/Certificate/Diploma/Degree from any reputed institution recognized by Central or State Government.
- Experience: For Head Cook: Minimum 3 years work experience as cook in Central Government / State Government / any Corporate Institution / Armed Forces or any Government Undertaking. Selection Process
- Viva Voce Verification: 50 marks, based on presentation and speech/language skills, dressing sense, etiquette, cooking skills and experience, knowledge of various cooking appliances and items used in cooking. Minimum 40% marks required to qualify for next stage.
- Cooking Skill Test: 50 marks, to check the ability to prepare food. Minimum 50% marks required.
- Final selection based on merit with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
General Information/Instructions
- Do not contact High Court by phone or in person for general inquiries to avoid disruption in daily work. Check High Court websites and SMS periodically.
- For age relaxation or reservation, reserved category candidates must produce relevant certificates at High Court. The final decision on eligibility rests with the High Court.
