Educational Qualification (Post-wise):

Teacher (Political Science) - Post Code 26028: Master's Degree in Political Science from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate; Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university and passed TET conducted by H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala, District Kangra or any other agency authorized by the Government; Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. Relaxation of 5% in minimum educational qualifications is available to SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates of H.P.

Teacher (Sociology) - Post Code 26029: Master's Degree in Sociology from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate; B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university and passed TET; Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. SC/ST/OBC/PWD (H.P.) candidates get 5% relaxation in minimum marks.

Teacher (Economics) - Post Code 26030: Master's Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate; B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks and passed TET; Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. Teacher (Computer) - Post Code 26032: B.E. or B.Tech. in Computer Science/Information Technology with minimum 50% marks; OR B.E./B.Tech. (any stream) with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science/Technology/Applications with minimum 50% marks; OR M.Sc. (Computer Science)/MCA with minimum 50% marks; OR Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics/Physics with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science/Applications with minimum 50% marks; OR "B" or "C" level course from DOEACC Society/Ministry of ICT with minimum 50% marks; AND Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. Teacher (Fine Arts) - Post Code 26033: Master's Degree in Fine Arts/Visual Arts (painting and sculpture) with at least 50% marks from a recognized university; OR Higher Secondary/Intermediate/Senior School Certificate Examination with minimum 5 years full time/7 years part-time Diploma in Fine Art/Painting from recognized universities or institute with at least 50% marks. SC/ST/OBC/PWD (H.P.) candidates get 5% relaxation.

Teacher (Public Administration) - Post Code 26034: Master's Degree in Public Administration from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate; B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks and passed TET; Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. SC/ST/OBC/PWD (H.P.) candidates get 5% relaxation.

Teacher (Physical Education) - Post Code 26035: Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE) or B.Sc. in Health and Physical Education and Degree in Sports with at least 55% marks as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2009; OR at least 50% marks in B.P.Ed. degree/B.P.Ed. (Integrated 4 years professional degree) as per NCTE Regulations, 2007; OR B.P.Ed. with at least 55% marks or B.P.E Course of 3 years with at least 50% marks as per NCTE Regulations, 2002; OR Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) one year as per NCTE norms; AND M.P.Ed./M.A. Physical Education of at least 2 years from any NCTE recognized institution; AND Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. SC/ST/OBC/PWD (H.P.) candidates get 5% relaxation.

Important Note for All Posts: A candidate shall be eligible for engagement under this Scheme if he/she has passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any school/institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. This condition shall not apply to Bonafide Himachalis. Candidates of reserved categories of other States shall be treated as General (UR) candidates and no benefit of reservation/fee concession shall be admissible to them.

HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

Note: Age is reckoned as on 01.01.2026. Candidates of reserved categories of other States shall be treated as General (UR) category.

HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

Fee can be paid through Online Payment Gateway only, using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. No other mode of payment will be accepted. Examination and processing fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances and will not be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern

The mode of selection will be Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR-based written screening test of 120 marks of 1½ hours (one and a half hours) duration or as decided by the Aayog.

The objective type screening test will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying 1 mark.

Syllabus:

The CBT will cover two broad areas: (i) Subjects/fields up to the level of prescribed essential qualification(s) as notified in the advertisement; and (ii) (a) General Knowledge including General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh and Current Affairs, and (b) Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English and General Hindi etc. of Matric Standard.

Qualifying Marks:

The minimum qualifying marks of written screening test/OMR/CBT shall be at least 45% marks for General category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/Ward of Freedom Fighters candidates. However, if the number of candidates securing the prescribed percentage is less than the number of advertised posts, the Aayog may relax the qualifying percentage by a maximum of 5%, i.e., up to 40% for General category and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/WFF candidates, for reasons to be recorded in writing.

In case of multiple shifts CBT examination, the score of candidates shall be normalized using Z-Score Method (Mean and Standard Deviation Method) for preparation of the merit list.

Normalization Formula: Xn = (S2/S1) * (X - Xav) + Yav, where Xn is the candidate's normalized score, S2 is the SD of the shift with the highest average score (base), S1 is the SD of the corresponding shift, X is the raw score, Xav is the simple average of the shift, and Yav is the average of the base shift.

HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 Honorarium Structure

Selected teachers will be engaged on fixed honorarium under the Scheme for Engagements of Teachers in Government Schools Affiliated to CBSE.

HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 Terms of Engagement

Selected teachers will be engaged under the "Scheme for the Engagements of Teachers in Government Schools Affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Fixed Honorarium/Consolidated Amount" (Annexure-I) notified by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Department of School Education vide notification No. EDN-B-A(1)-3/2025 dated 01.04.2026. Key terms are as follows:

The engagement is purely temporary for a period of 5 years and is not against any sanctioned post of TGT/PGT/PRT. Teachers shall not be deemed to be Government employees in any manner. The fixed honorarium of ₹30,000/- per month is payable for 10 months in an academic year only and shall not be treated as salary. There is no right to regularization against any vacant sanctioned post. Service Rules including CCS/CCA/Leave Rules/Pension Rule applicable to Government servants shall not apply. Teachers will be entitled to 10 days Casual Leave and 5 days Medical Leave in a year. Teachers shall be eligible for Medical benefit schemes under HIMCARE/Ayushman Bharat if eligible. The selected candidates shall be liable to be posted anywhere within the State. The Government medical rules for reimbursement claims shall not be applicable to these teachers.

HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection for HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 will be based on the following stages:

Computer Based Test (CBT): Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit order in the CBT/OMR screening test of 120 marks conducted by the Aayog. No personal interview will be held.

Merit List & Waiting Panel: A category-wise merit list will be prepared based on marks secured in the CBT. In case of a tie, the merit will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the essential qualification, then by age (senior preferred), and then alphabetically. A waiting panel shall also be prepared: up to 25 advertised posts - 25%; between 25 to 50 posts - 15%; above 50 posts - 10%, subject to minimum numbers. The waiting panel is valid for one year from the date of sending recommendation to the appointing authority.

Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates as per merit will be called for document verification. Candidates must produce all original certificates/documents and self-attested photocopies. The downloaded/printed copy of the online application form along with necessary original certificates and self-attested photocopies must be produced at the time of document verification. No Offline Application Form will be accepted.

Final Recommendation: After document verification, the Aayog will recommend candidates to the appointing authority. Recommendations of the Aayog will be valid till the appointments are offered to the candidates by the Appointing Authority.

Counseling/Allocation: After selection, allocation of schools/posts will be done through merit-based counseling as per Government guidelines.

How to Apply for HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026

Eligible candidates must submit their application online through the official website hprca.hp.gov.in. The candidate must be registered on the One Time Registration (OTR) portal before filling the ORA. No Offline Application Form will be accepted by the HPRCA.

Step 1 - Sign Up: Visit the HPRCA portal https://hprca.hp.gov.in and click on the "Sign Up" option to create a username and password.

Step 2 - One-Time Registration (OTR): After successful sign-up, complete the One-Time Registration by providing personal information, educational qualifications, work experience (if any), uploading a recent photograph and signature, and uploading relevant supporting documents. This information is stored in the user's profile and can be utilized for future applications.

Step 3 - Complete/Update Profile: Only users who have completed their profile can apply for posts. If any updates are required (e.g., change in qualification or contact details), the candidate can edit their profile before applying.

Step 4 - Apply for a Post: Once the profile is complete, view the list of available posts on the HPRCA portal (https://hprca.hp.gov.in) and click on the "Apply" button corresponding to the desired post. Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form against each post.

Step 5 - Select Preferred Exam District: Select your preferred district(s) for the examination from the dropdown menu. Candidates may opt for three Test Cities from the list as per their preferences. MCL/HPRCA reserves the right to allocate any Test City. The same cannot be changed after the online form is submitted.

Step 6 - Confirm Application Details: The system will automatically fill your application form using the information from your profile. Please review all details carefully - including name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth (as per Matric Certificate), category, sub-category, age, essential qualifications, and scanned photograph (passport size, not older than one month, JPG/JPEG/PNG, max 1 MB) and scanned signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG, max 1 MB) - before proceeding.

Step 7 - Pay Application Fee: Proceed to make the application fee payment of ₹800/- through the available Online Payment Gateway using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Step 8 - Application Submission Confirmation: After successful payment, your application will be considered complete. Take a printout of the online application form for future reference.

Correction Window: A correction window shall be opened for a period of four days commencing after the closing date for submission of ORAs. During this window, candidates shall be permitted to rectify errors in their ORAs subject to payment of ₹100/- correction fee through the prescribed payment gateway.

Note: The candidates must read the instructions carefully before filling up the ORA for the post(s) concerned. Incomplete ORA submitted without prescribed essential qualifications, age, date of birth, category, requisite examination fee and other processing fees, scanned photograph and signatures of prescribed size etc. will be rejected straightway. The candidates are strictly advised to apply online well in advance to avoid rush during closing dates.

HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 Documents Required

Candidates must keep the following documents/certificates ready (as copies to be uploaded in the ORA and originals to be produced at the time of document verification):

• Matriculation Certificate (for age proof)
• Degree/Diploma/Certificates along with Mark Sheets of all years in support of educational qualifications as prescribed under the Essential Qualification column
• Provisional Certificate(s) along with mark sheets of all semesters/years
• Experience Certificate(s) wherever required - must be attained after acquiring qualification (Degree/Diploma) and duly verified/counter-signed by the concerned Government Authority/Departmental Officer
• Caste Certificates (SC/ST/OBC) on parental basis in prescribed format issued by competent authority
• BPL Certificate (if applicable) - valid for 6 months from date of issuance
• EWS Certificate (valid for one year from date of issuance - should be valid on last date of ORA as well as on date of document verification)
• Ward of Freedom Fighter/WFF Certificate (if applicable)
• Other Certificates required for determining eligibility as per the mode of selection criteria that apply to the applicants.

All certificates required in support of eligibility, category claims, experience etc. shall be in the prescribed format, failing which the candidature is liable to be rejected.

Note: The downloaded copy of the online application form along with necessary original certificates and self-attested photocopies must be brought at the time of document verification or to submit the same whenever required by the HPRCA to ascertain the eligibility of applicants.
