Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must possess eminent ability, integrity, standing, and experience in ANY ONE of the following areas:
- (i) Education: Significant experience and contribution in the field of education, educational policy, school administration, or academic institution management
- (ii) Child Health, Care, Welfare or Child Development: Expertise in child health, childcare, welfare services, child development programs, or related areas in established institutions or organizations
- (iii) Juvenile Justice or Care of Neglected, Marginalized, or Disabled Children: Professional experience in juvenile justice system, care of neglected children, marginalized children, children with disabilities, or children in distress
- (iv) Elimination of Child Labour: Active involvement or expertise in programs, advocacy, or enforcement related to the elimination of child labour
- (v) Child Psychology or Sociology: Specialized knowledge and experience in child psychology, developmental psychology, or sociology related to children and families
- (vi) Laws Relating to Children: Legal expertise, judicial experience, or administrative background specifically related to laws, policies, and constitutional provisions affecting children
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: Below 60 years (age calculated as on the date of application submission)
- No Lower Age Limit: Specified in the notification
Reservation
- Women Reservation: 2 out of 6 posts are reserved exclusively for women candidates
- General/Unreserved: 4 posts for general candidates (both men and women can apply)
Term of Office & Tenure
- Tenure Duration: 3 years from the date of appointment
- Early Removal: A member can be removed from office under Section 7(1) as per the relevant act
- Re-nomination Eligibility: Members who have served as Members can be eligible for re-nomination as Chairperson or Member for two additional terms as per the rules
- Chairperson Eligibility: A member who has already served as Chairperson can serve as a member again, or can be re-nominated as Chairperson for up to two terms

Duties & Responsibilities of Members
- Child Rights Protection: Ensure protection and promotion of rights of all children in Haryana
- Policy Advocacy: Advise government on policies and programs related to child welfare and protection
- Investigation: Investigate cases of violation of child rights and initiate action
- Public Awareness: Create awareness about child rights, child protection mechanisms, and welfare schemes
- Interagency Coordination: Coordinate with government departments, NGOs, and other agencies for child protection
- Monitoring: Monitor implementation of child protection laws, schemes, and programs
- Complaint Redressal: Hear and address complaints related to child rights violations
- Commission Meetings: Attend regular commission meetings and contribute to decision-making
