Phase I - Written Test
The written test is common for both streams and will be conducted at the station/location where the candidate submitted the application.

Candidates found using unfair means, carrying prohibited electronic devices, or engaging in impersonation will be debarred permanently from Agniveervayu Non-Combatant selection tests.
Phase II - Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Only candidates who pass the written test are permitted to appear for PFT, which is common and qualifying for both streams.
- Height Check: Minimum acceptable height 152 cm; candidates below this are disqualified from further tests.
- PFT-I: A 1.6 km run to be completed within 7 minutes (additional time is given at high altitude: nil up to 5,000 feet, +30 seconds from 5,001–9,000 feet, +120 seconds from 9,001–12,000 feet).

For the Housekeeping stream, candidates are assessed on sweeping floors/cleaning bathrooms, cutting grass/watering gardens/digging trenches, washing utensils, and demonstrated ability in at least one of washing and ironing clothes, hair cutting/dressing/shampooing, stitching of leather items, or tailoring/pattern-cutting skills.
Phase IV - Medical Examination
A certain number of candidates who qualify in SST, as per merit, undergo a medical examination by the Air Force Medical team as per IAF medical standards. This includes baseline investigations such as Blood Haemogram (Hb, TLC, DLC, Platelets), Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry (blood sugar fasting and post-prandial, serum cholesterol, RFT, LFT), chest radiograph (PA view), ECG, and any other investigation the Recruiting Medical Officer considers necessary.
