IIT Jammu Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria
- Professor: Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent in the preceding degrees with throughout consistently good academic record. Minimum ten years Teaching, Research, Industrial experience of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs or in similar institutes of national importance.
- Associate Professor: Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent in the preceding degrees with throughout consistently good academic record. A minimum of six years Teaching, Industry, Research experience, of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in an academic institution.
- Assistant Professor Grade-I: Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent in the preceding degrees with throughout consistently good academic record. A minimum of 3 years relevant industrial, research, teaching experience, excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.
- Assistant Professor Grade-II: Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent in the preceding degrees with throughout consistently good academic record. Applicants satisfying all criteria other than the post Ph.D. experience criteria for Assistant Professor Grade I, may be appointed as Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on post-doctoral experience.

- Professor: Academic Pay Level 14 A (Rs. 159100-220200) with minimum basic pay of Rs. 159100/- per month
- Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level 13A2 (Rs. 139600-211300) with minimum basic pay of Rs. 139600/- per month
- Assistant Professor Grade-I: Academic Pay Level 12 (Rs. 101500-167400) with minimum basic pay of Rs. 101500/- per month
- Assistant Professor Grade-II: At entry level, may be placed in Academic Pay Level 10 (Rs. 57700-98200) with minimum basic pay of Rs. 70900/- per month and shall be moved to Academic Level 11 after completion of one year post Ph.D experience.
