Eligibility Criteria
B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline from a recognized university/institute with first class (minimum 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA); valid GATE qualification required unless degree awarded by a CFTI with at least 7.5/10 CGPA or 75% aggregate marks at graduation.
M.Tech/M.E. in a relevant discipline from a recognized university/institute with first class (minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA); candidates with M.Tech or M.E. are not required to have a valid GATE qualification.
M.Sc. in Data Science and Management or Data Analytics or other relevant disciplines with valid GATE qualification.
Experience and deep interest in research in Deep Learning, Biomedical Data Analysis, or Medical Image Analysis (preferable qualification).
Strong programming skills in Python, PyTorch, or similar (preferable qualification).
Previous involvement in academic research projects and/or publications (preferable qualification).
Salary / Stipend
Fellowship per month: ₹56,000 + HRA.

General Information / Instructions
Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated through email tentatively by 20 January, 2026 to appear for an online interview.
No TA/DA will be given to the candidates for attending the interview.
The position is available immediately, so the selected candidate is expected to join immediately.
Candidates already working under various research schemes and desiring to be considered should send applications through proper channel with NOC from the employer stating that they will be relieved immediately if selected.
The selected candidate shall be expected to enroll as a full-time, self-sponsored PhD student at IIT Ropar in the relevant department upon joining.
Admission to the PhD program will follow IIT Ropar regulations for self-financed candidates and departmental shortlisting criteria, including written test/interview.
No financial support for PhD tuition/registration will be provided by the project or the institute; consolidated salary and benefits will be paid solely from the ICMR CAR project grant.
