Eligibility Criteria
Jr. Professional Intern (Hindi): Degree of a recognised University with Hindi and English as elective/compulsory subjects OR Degree of a recognised University in any subject with a diploma in translation (Hindi and English as subject) from any recognised University/Institute; knowledge of typing in Hindi.
Jr. Professional Intern (Marathi): Degree of a recognised University with Marathi and English as elective/compulsory subjects OR Degree of a recognised University in any subject with a diploma in translation (Marathi and English as subject) from any recognised University/Institute; knowledge of typing in Marathi.
Jr. Professional Intern (HR Associate): Degree of a recognised University and Master of Business Administration (HR); proficiency in computer working/applications (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentation) through a course of not less than 6 months; knowledge of typing in English/Hindi/Marathi.
Desirable Experience: Preference will be given to persons with experience in relevant field supported by field work, policy papers, appraisal and monitoring of projects and schemes.
Soft Skills: Eager to learn and work with various departments; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to multitask; ability to cope well under pressure; strong data modelling, research and analytical skills.
Salary/Stipend
Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 40,000/- per month for Jr. Professional Interns.
Annual increment of 5% on the last drawn remuneration based on satisfactory performance.
No entitlement to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Transport Facility, Personal Staff, CGHS, Medical Reimbursement or other allowances.
No TA/DA for joining or completion of assignment; for official travel, compensation will be as per MbPA norms at the time of travel.
TDS as admissible shall be deducted from the monthly remuneration of Jr. Professional Interns.
Age Limit
Candidate should be less than 35 years of age as on the date of advertisement.

Selection Process
Applications received will be scrutinized and shortlisted based on qualification, experience and other details provided in the application form.
Mere fulfillment of qualification or shortlisting shall not confer any right to be engaged as Jr. Professional Intern.
Shortlisted candidates may be called for test/interview before selection.
Selected applicants must produce original mark sheets, character certificate and self-declaration certificate at the time of joining; failure to do so will result in cancellation of candidature.
Engagement is subject to verification of antecedents by the Police; adverse report will lead to termination.
Engagement of selected candidates is subject to the service and contract rules of Mumbai Port Authority and medical fitness as per MbPA requirements.
General Information/Instructions
Engagement is purely on contract basis; no claim/request for permanent employment will be entertained.
The initial period of engagement is 2 years, extendable by an additional 2 years based on performance, with no further extension; performance review will be conducted every 6 months.
Jr. Professional Interns will be on full time basis and are not permitted to take up any other assignment during the engagement.
Experience certificate will be issued by the concerned Department/Division; interns not completing one year will not be issued experience certificate.
Working hours are normally 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM on working days; in case of exigencies, they may be required to work late or on holidays without extra compensation.
Jr. Professional Interns are eligible for 20 days Casual Leave in a calendar year on pro-rata basis; absence beyond 20 days in a year leads to deduction in remuneration.
Absence of more than 15 days beyond entitled leave may lead to termination; no carry forward or encashment of leave is allowed.
Accommodation in MbPA quarters may be provided subject to availability (Class III B quarters); rent payable at 10% of consolidated remuneration plus single licence fee, with electricity and water charges on actual consumption.
MbPA hospital/dispensary OPD and IPD facility with medicines is available to contractual personnel; no medical facilities for family/dependents and no outside referral.
Jr. Professional Interns may be required to have their own laptops; MbPA shall provide working space, internet facility and other necessities as deemed fit.
Interns will receive 1–2 weeks orientation training for acquiring job-related skills and must submit brief reports/papers at scheduled intervals.
Interns must conduct themselves in accordance with MbPA rules and demonstrate high moral character, integrity, secrecy of office and dedication to work.
They will be governed by the Official Secrets Act, 1923 and must not disclose any information/data acquired during engagement to unauthorized persons.
Use of MbPA name, emblem or official seal or its abbreviation for business or otherwise is prohibited without prior written permission.
Engagement contract may be terminated by MbPA at any time by giving one month’s notice or proportionate remuneration in lieu; interns must also give one month’s notice to disengage.
MbPA may terminate engagement forthwith without notice in cases such as inability to perform assigned work, unsatisfactory quality, failure to achieve milestones, lack of honesty and integrity, adverse police report or incorrect/false credentials.
MbPA has the right to cancel the advertisement and not go for engagement at any stage and may accept or reject any or all applications without reasons.
No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in written examination/interview.
Any legal proceedings related to this advertisement and application can be instituted only in Mumbai; courts/tribunals/forums at Mumbai shall have sole jurisdiction.
