Eligibility Criteria for NCRTC Executive/ Transport Planner 2025

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess full-time B.E./B.Tech./B.Plan from a UGC-recognized University/Deemed University or AICTE-approved institution/statutory council, with only full-time regular courses considered. Preferable qualification is a Post-Graduate/Master’s degree in Transport Planning/Transport Engineering or equivalent.

2. Experience

• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience after the essential degree.
• Experience in planning for rail-based public transport systems along with involvement in multimodal transport studies.
• Involvement in preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for Metro, High Speed Rail, RRTS or other rail-based systems, comprehensive mobility plans, public transport demand forecasting, alignment studies, feeder system planning and multimodal integration.
• Experience/CTC requirements differ for candidates from CDA, IDA and Private sector, including minimum CTC of Rs. 6.70 lakhs per annum for private sector applicants.

3. Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years for Indian Nationals applying to the post.
• Maximum Age: 35 years as on 04/12/2025, with relaxations for SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other categories as per NCRTC and Government norms.

3. Nationality

Candidates must be Indian Nationals to be eligible to apply for the Executive/ Transport Planner post.

Selection Process for NCRTC Executive/ Transport Planner 2025

• Selection will comprise a Written Test/Computer Based Test (CBT) with 80% weightage and an Interview with 20% weightage.
• Minimum qualifying percentage is 60% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Merit list will be prepared based on combined score of Written Test/CBT and Interview; candidates may be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 in each category.
• Venue, date and time of Written Test/CBT will be notified on the NCRTC website in advance; no TA/DA will be paid for appearing in Written Test/CBT.
• Document verification will be conducted before interview, and only candidates with complete original documents will be allowed to appear.
