NIMHANS Scientist B (Medical) & Data Entry Operator Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details 

Eligibility Criteria

• NIMHANS is conducting WALK-IN-SELECTION for filling up various posts on contract basis for Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NIMHANS, Bengaluru under the approved scheme of the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India funded project entitled “Setting up of Nation-wide Network of Laboratories for Managing Epidemics and National calamities” through ICMR under Dr. Reeta S. Mani, Professor & Head, Department of Neurovirology & Principal Investigator.
• Scientist B (Medical) – Essential Qualifications: MBBS / BDS / B.V.Sc. & AH recognized by MCI / DCI / VCI respectively OR BDS / B.V.Sc degree with one year experience.
• Scientist B (Medical) – Desirable Qualifications: MD in the related subject from a recognized university; additional post doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in recognized institute; knowledge of Computer Applications / Data Management; two years Research & Diagnostics / Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
• Data Entry Operator – Essential Qualifications: Graduate with knowledge of data entry work.
• Data Entry Operator – Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates with prior 1–2 years’ experience in data entry work.

Salary/Stipend

• Scientist B (Medical): Emoluments of Rs. 56,000/- plus 27% HRA per month.
• Data Entry Operator: Emoluments of Rs. 20,000/- per month consolidated.
• For both posts, initial appointment will be made for a period of 6 months, which will be extended to 1 year depending upon the performance of the candidate.

Age Limit 

• Scientist B (Medical): Maximum age limit 45 years.
• Data Entry Operator: Maximum age limit 30 years.

Selection Process

• The desirous candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria are advised to appear for a walk-in cum written test.
• Candidates must attend with their Resume and Testimonials/Educational documents in original, as well as a set of photocopies.
• Selection involves written/skill test conducted on the date of walk-in; candidates must register their names half an hour before commencement of the written/skill test.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written/skill test.

General Information/Instructions

• The posts are purely on contract basis for VRDL at NIMHANS, Bengaluru under the project “Setting up of Nation-wide Network of Laboratories for Managing Epidemics and National calamities.”
• Candidates working in projects (Extramural/Intramural) in NIMHANS are required to produce NOC from the Principal Investigator.
• Candidates must bring all original testimonials and educational documents along with one set of photocopies at the time of walk-in-cum written test.
• The venue for the walk-in-cum written test is Board Room and Exam Hall, Academic Section 4th Floor, NBRC Building, opposite to NIMHANS Library, Bengaluru 560029.
