NTPC Specialist (Project Management) Vacancy Details

NTPC has advertised one post of Specialist (Project Management), reserved as follows.

Reservation for PwBD candidates is as per Govt. Guidelines. The notice calls the vacancies projected: they may increase or decrease as per organizational requirement at the discretion of NTPC management, and the Company reserves the right to cancel, restrict, curtail or increase the number of vacancies without further notice.

Who Can Apply

Educational Qualification

• B.E / B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation & Control
• OR Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with two-year MBA / PGDM

All qualifications should be full time from Universities/Institutions recognized and approved in India.

Experience

• Minimum 20 years of post-qualification experience
• Out of this, at least 3 years should be in project planning/execution/monitoring/management

Preference

• Preference shall be given to candidates who are familiar with the geographical conditions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and are conversant with local regulations, statutory requirements, environmental norms and safety standards.
• Experience in setting up large projects from scratch in coastal forest areas will be an added advantage.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 57 years. Age, experience and qualification are counted with reference to the last date of receipt of online application, that is 20 November 2026.

Nationality and Other Conditions

• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
• Candidates claiming a category must hold the applicable year's valid EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/Disability certificate from the Competent Authority in the latest prescribed format of Govt. of India.
• Before joining, the selected candidate must pass a medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board/Officer, whose decision is final; no relaxation in prescribed health standards is allowed. Detailed medical norms are on careers.ntpc.co.in.

Pay and Terms

• Remuneration: Monthly consolidated amount of Rs. 5,00,000/-.
• Additionally: Company accommodation/HRA, retention benefit and medical facility for self, spouse, dependent parents and two dependent children.
• Tenure of engagement: 03 years, on a fixed term basis.
• Place of posting: Great Nicobar Island (GNI) for the Gas Engine based Power Project. Posts are transferable to any of NTPC's Offices/Stations/Projects/JVs/Subsidiaries, based on organizational requirements and at the sole discretion of the Management.

The notice does not mention any extension or renewal of the 3-year term.

How to Apply for NTPC Specialist (Project Management)

1. Log on to careers.ntpc.co.in between 6 November 2026 and 20 November 2026 (till 06 PM). Only online applications are accepted; no other mode is accepted.
2. Keep a valid email ID; NTPC is not responsible for bouncing of any email sent to candidates.
3. Pay the application fee if you are in the General/EWS/OBC category (details below) and enter the payment details in the online form.
4. Upload all documents listed below while applying; applications with incomplete or insufficient documents are liable to be rejected.
5. After applying, download the application slip with the unique application number generated by the system and keep a copy. No document is to be sent to NTPC by post.

Application Fee

• Offline payment: Take a printout of the pay-in-slip available on the application portal to a nearby SBI branch. The fee goes into a specially opened account, A/C No. 30987919993 at CAG branch, New Delhi (Code: 09996). The bank issues a unique Journal Number and Branch Code, which must be filled in the online application. Only the pay-in-slip printed from the portal should be used; NTPC is not responsible if the fee is deposited in the wrong account.
• Online payment: Net banking, Debit Card or Credit Card, through the online application form.
• Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances, so candidates should verify their eligibility before paying.

Documents to Upload

• Class X passing certificate/Marksheet, PAN Card and Aadhar Card (Name and DOB should match on all documents).
• Final/Provisional certificate in the required Engineering Discipline/MBA/PGDM and Graduation (as applicable).
• Consolidated Marksheet/Transcript/all semester marksheets showing aggregate % of marks, for Graduation and Post Graduation as applicable.
• Marks conversion formula from the university/Institute for converting CGPA/CGPI/DGPA/CGI/CPI etc. into percentage.
• Caste/Disability certificate (for EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwBD candidates) as applicable; OBC-NCL certificate in central format for FY 2026-27; EWS Income & Asset certificate valid for FY 2026-27 based on the income of FY 2025-26.
• Disability certificate in the latest central Govt. format, generated online through the Swavalamban/UDID portal, showing the type and percentage of disability.
• Experience documents for each organisation placed together in chronological order: Experience/Service certificate (in NTPC prescribed sample format), Offer of Appointment/Appointment letter/Offer Letter plus Confirmation/Absorption Letter, Joining Order, Role Assignment orders, Promotion and Transfer orders, Organization charts, 02 pay slips for every year and Form-16 for each organization.

Selection Process

To restrict the number of candidates, NTPC management reserves the right, if required, to conduct a multi-stage selection process which may comprise application shortlisting/screening (based on qualification/percentage of marks, number of years of required post-qualification experience etc.), a written/computer-based test, a personal interview, or a combination of these. It may also raise the minimum eligibility standards. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not give a candidate the right to be shortlisted or called for a written test or interview. The selected candidate must clear the NTPC medical examination before joining.

Important Instructions

• The category once filled in the online application form cannot be changed, and no benefit of another category is allowed later.
• If a candidate is found ineligible or to have given false information or suppressed facts at any stage, the candidature will be cancelled; if found after appointment, services are liable to be terminated without notice.
