OPSC AEE Civil Vacancy 2026

OPSC has notified a total of 46 vacancies for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil), of which 15 posts are reserved for women. The category-wise vacancy distribution, as furnished by the Housing & Urban Development Department, is given below.

Of the total 46 vacancies, 2 posts are reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) whose permanent disability is 40% or more - 1 post under Category-I and 1 post under Category-II. PwD candidates will be adjusted against the reservation category (UR/SEBC/SC/ST) to which they belong.

OPSC AEE Civil Qualification

A candidate must be a Graduate in Civil Engineering from any University or Institution recognised by the Government, or must be an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers of India in Civil (AMIE Civil).

OPSC AEE Civil Age Limit

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above 42 years on 1 January 2026 - that is, born not earlier than 2 January 1984 and not later than 1 January 2005.

If a candidate falls under more than one category listed above, only one benefit of upper age relaxation - whichever is most beneficial - will be given. Except as provided above, the prescribed age limits cannot be relaxed under any circumstances. Only the date of birth entered in the High School Certificate or an equivalent certificate issued by the concerned Board/Council will be accepted.

Odia Language Requirement

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia, satisfied by any one of the following: passed Middle School examination with Odia as a language subject; passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination with Odia as the medium in a non-language subject; passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII or above from a recognised school; or passed a test in Odia at Middle English School Standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department/Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.

A. Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is a screening test for shortlisting candidates for the Main Examination. Both Main Examination papers are Objective Type MCQs (OMR or CBT), with 2 marks awarded per correct answer, 25% negative marking per wrong answer, and zero marks for unattempted questions. Candidates securing the minimum qualifying marks are shortlisted for the Interview in a ratio of 1:2 with respect to the number of vacancies in each category, subject to a minimum of 5 candidates.

C. Interview

The Interview (Personality Test) carries 50 marks.

D. Final Merit List

The final Merit List (Select List) is prepared based on the combined marks obtained in the Main Examination and Interview, category-wise, equal to the total number of vacancies to be filled. In case of a tie in aggregate marks, the candidate with higher Main Examination marks is placed higher; if the tie persists, the older candidate (by date of birth) is placed higher.
