Why Were 52 Candidates Not Considered Under Sports Person Category in OPSC OCSE-2025?

Out of 119 candidates who applied under the Sports Person category for OCSE-2025, scrutiny revealed that 52 candidates had uploaded invalid Sports Persons Certificates at the time of submitting their online application. OPSC had already given these candidates a fair opportunity - they were intimated via Office Notice No. 2631/PSC dated 13th May 2026, and also through email, asking them to submit a valid Sports Identity Card or Certificate issued as per G.A. & P.G. Department Resolution No. 24808/GA, dated 18th November 1985.
However, none of the 52 candidates submitted the required valid Sports Identity Card or Certificate within the stipulated time. As a result, as per Para 11(j) of the Advertisement, their candidatures under the Sports Person category stand cancelled.
What Happens to These 52 Candidates Now?
Understanding the next steps for these candidates is important. OPSC has not rejected these applicants entirely from the recruitment process.
The candidature of all 52 candidates has been shifted to their respective general categories - that is, UR (Unreserved), SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Class), SC (Scheduled Caste), or ST (Scheduled Tribe) - whichever category they originally belong to. They will now be considered for OCSE-2025 under those categories and not as Sports Person candidates. This means their applications remain active, but without the benefit of the Sports Person reservation.
