• Qualification: MBBS or Equivalent Degree Recognized by MCI / NMC. Candidate should be registered with Central/State Medical Council.

Salary/ Stipend

• Rs. 75000/- Per month (consolidated).
• Daily rate of reduction for absence: Rs. 2500/- Per day.

General Information / Instructions

1. The contract/agreement shall be entered into for 6 months or less from the date of entering into contract/agreement. Period of hiring is not extendable on any grounds. Second term may be considered against clear vacancy and satisfactory work. The Contract should be signed between the hired professional and MO I/C as per the terms and conditions laid down by DOO(C&S), Kolkata. A particular individual should not be hired more than once in a calendar year. However in case of retired Doctors, subsequent terms may be allowed with prior sanction of DoO(C&S), Kolkata.
2. The full-time Hired Medical Practitioner who enters into agreement with the OFH-Avadi will not have any claim or right for his/her continuity in service or automatic extension of contract/agreement.
3. During the validity of the agreement the Hired Medical Practitioner will be liberty to terminate the agreement for betterment of his/her career or any other grounds by giving seven days notice to the OFH-Avadi. The OFH-Avadi can also terminate the agreement at any time during the tenure by giving seven days notice without assigning any reasons what so ever. Agreement shall also be terminated, if the Hired Medical Practitioner is found to be mentally or physically incapacitated or incapable of discharging his/her duties.
4. The Hired Medical Practitioner shall undergo a Medical Examination at the OFH-Avadi, before the contract is entered into, for his/her fitness to perform the work awarded to him/her. PVR is mandatory if the Hired Medical Practitioner is to be posted inside the factory premises.
5. Normally Sundays and National Holidays (Republic Day, Independence Day & Gandhi Jayanti) shall be off. If they are called for work on these days they will be granted Off in lieu of that.
6. The Hired Medical Practitioner will not be provided with any transport/transport arrangement. The Hired Medical Practitioner will not be entitled for any free medical treatment at O.F. Hospitals except First Aid in case of Emergency.
7. The Hired Medical Practitioner shall attend to all the normal tasks which any Regular Medical Practitioner is conventionally doing. He / She will also attend emergencies/disasters and accidents.
8. The Hired Medical Practitioner shall provide his/her services as DMO minimum once in week and he/she will get Off the next day as done/availed by regular MOs of IOFHS at that station.
9. The Hired Medical Practitioner can issue SICK/UNFIT certificate upto a maximum period of 03 days which should be countersigned by a regular MO. Hired Medical Practitioner will normally not issue FITNESS Certificates.
10. The Hired Medical Practitioner will not have any financial powers and shall not perform any administrative work like Pre-Employment Medical Examination etc. The Hired Medical Practitioner shall not make any administrative Medical Recommendations normally, if he/she does so it should be approved by MO I/C.
11. The Medical Practitioner will not refer patients to other Hospitals, if he/she does so it should be approved by MO I/C.
12. The Hired Medical Practitioner cannot write the Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) of any category of Staff.
13. The Medical Officer Incharge OFH-Avadi reserves the right to modify / alter the process due to any directives of court / CAT case or as per instructions from DoO (C&S) / Ministry of Defence without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason. The decision of MO I/C OFH-Avadi will be final and no appeal will be entertained against this issue.

• Eligible and Interested candidates having requisite qualification are directed to report to Ordnance Factories Hospital (Ordnance Factories Hospital Avadi), AVNL Estate, Avadi, Chennai-600054 on 09 February 2026 at 09.00am.
• The candidates are requested to bring all original certificates of his/her MBBS Degree Certificate, Medical Registration Certificate with the Central / State Medical Council, Internship Completion Certificate, Attempt Certificate, FMGE Certificate (for Foreign Medical Graduates), 10th / 12th Mark Sheet for age proof, Experience Certificate if any and one set of Xerox copy of all certificates duly attested by the Central/State Govt. Gazetted Officer.
• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to appear in the interview.
• Candidates are also required to bring original Aadhar Card/Voter ID/PAN Card and Xerox copy duly attested by the Central/State Govt. Gazetted Officer for identification along with two recent passport size photographs.
