Punjab Police Constable Eligibility Criteria 2026
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Education Board/University. In the case of Ex‑servicemen, the minimum educational qualification required is Matriculation.
- Mandatory Punjabi Qualification: All candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject or have passed any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language as specified by the Punjab Government on or before 01 January 2026.
- Age Limit: The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 28 years as on 1st January 2026. Relaxation in upper age is applicable: up to 5 years (maximum 33 years) for SC and Backward Classes residents of Punjab, Ex‑servicemen of Punjab can deduct actual service length plus 3 years from their age, and regular employees of Punjab Government/other State or Central Government also get relaxation up to 5 years (maximum 33 years).
- Physical Standards (Height): Male candidates must have a minimum height of 5 feet 7 inches (170.2 cm), while female and transgender candidates must have a minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cm) for both District and Armed Police Cadre.
