The eligibility rules include the following additional requirements and relaxations:
- Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D programme prior to July 11, 2009 shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Guidelines of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET / SLET/ SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Librarian positions in the Universities subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions: (i) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode; (ii) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners; (iii) The Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate should have been conducted; (iv) The candidate has published two research papers from his / her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal; (v) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his / her Ph.D. work in conferences / seminars sponsored / funded / supported by the UGC/ ICAR/ ICCSR/ CSIR or any similar agency.
- Note: NET shall not be required for such Master's Programmes in disciplines for which NET is not conducted by the UGC, ICAR, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
- Note: Incase of non-availability of candidates possessing NET or Ph.D. on the date of Walk-in-Interview, candidates with Master's Degree be considered for the post.
What to Bring

What Happens on the Day
Candidates must report at 11:00 AM on 16-11-2026 at the College of Community Science, UAS Dharwad. Candidates must appear in person for the interview.

- The temporary appointment is for a period not exceeding 179 days.
- Preference will be given to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates as per government rules.
- The temporary appointment is liable to be terminated at any time without assigning any reasons and carries no right of regular recruitment in the university or college.
- Candidates who wish to apply must attend the interview in person.
