Selection Process

Service Conditions

• Contract period: The engagement is purely on contract. It starts with six months from the date of joining or lasts until a regular candidate joins, whichever is earlier.
• Extension: The contract may be extended from time to time if the Authority is satisfied with the candidate's service and no permanent candidate has filled the post.
• Termination: Either side may end the contract at any time by giving at least 15 days' notice.
• Working hours: The post is part-time: one session of 03 (three) hours a day, 06 (six) days a week.
• Duties: As assigned by the Authority.
• No claim to a regular post: The contract employee has no claim or right to regular engagement in any post at Visva-Bharati.
• No regular-employee benefits: There is no Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance treatment, seniority or promotion. Other benefits given to regular Government servants also do not apply.
