Age Limit

The age limit is a maximum of 57 years as on the date of notification.

Educational Qualification

• A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines.
• A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed.

Experience and Research

• A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution / Industry.
• A minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• A total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix, Table 2.

Relaxation in Marks and Grade Equivalence

• SC/ST candidates get a 5% relaxation at the Master's level, from 55% to 50% of the marks.
• Ph.D. degree holders who passed their Master Degree prior to 19 September 1991 get a 5% relaxation, from 55% to 50% of the marks.
• 'B' in the seven point scale with UGC letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F is regarded as equivalent to 55% whenever the grading system is followed.

Language Requirement

Candidates need knowledge of Tamil to the extent of carrying official correspondence and drafting reports.

Application Fee

This amount is the registration fee including the application fee. Pay it by Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. It is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Selection Process

The selection procedure will be as per the decision of the Syndicate of Bharathiar University. Applicants should be prepared to come for an interview at their own cost. The University will follow a transparency procedure as per Government Letter No.7582/K2/2021-1, dated 09.06.2021.

Service Conditions

• The selected candidate will be required to join duty immediately.
• On joining, the candidate must enter into an agreement with the University in accordance with its laws.
• Pay protection will not be guaranteed in any manner to candidates already in service.

Other Conditions

• Applications received after the last date and applications with incomplete particulars will be summarily rejected.
• The University will not be responsible for any delay in receipt caused by a public holiday, strike or any other unforeseen reason, and such applications are liable to be rejected.
• Applicants who attempt to canvas or influence their candidature in any manner will be disqualified.
• Enquiries made through telephone or in person will not be entertained.
• After notification and until the publication of the result, no information will be furnished under the Right to Information Act.
