Eligibility Criteria

Project Assistant-II (P-2601)

• Qualification: 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
• Desirable: Experience in Electrical Vehicle prototype development, PLC and Instruments, tractor testing, data collections

Project Assistant-II (P-2602)

• Qualification: 3 Years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Technology
• Desirable: Hands-on experience on development, assembly and integration of various small mechanical, electronic, electrical components of vehicle/mechanical systems. Capability to develop manufacturing drawings using Auto CAD software and mechanical system integration. Field data survey & collection

Project Technical Support-III (P-2603)

• Qualification: Four Years Graduate degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Production/Mechanical Design/Aeronautical/Mechatronics
• Desirable: Experience and Knowledge in ANY ONE or more of the following:
  • Design and analysis of Mechanisms and Machines
  • Dynamics and Control of Mechanical systems/Multibody Dynamics (ADAMS/ANSYS Motion etc)
  • Solid mechanics, Mechanics of composites
  • Solid Modeling Software (any of Solidworks/CATIA/Inventor/Siemens NX etc.)
  • Finite Element Method (ANSYS Mechanical/Abaqus/Marc etc.)
  • Programming in Matlab/C++
  • Physics based/Robot simulation software such as Gazebo/MuJoCo/PyBullet etc.
  • Basics of instrumentation, data acquisition, experiment design, sensing and actuation principles

Project Associate-I (P-2604)

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry/Physics from a recognized University
• Desirable: Background knowledge of energy materials and carbonaceous materials

Project Associate-II (P-2605)

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Civil/Applied Mechanics/Aerospace from a recognized University or equivalent and 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR Masters/Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Civil/Applied Mechanics/Aerospace from a recognized University
• Desirable: Finite Element Modeling and Analysis, Dynamic Modeling of Multibody systems, Mathematical Programming

Project Associate-II (P-2606)

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Production/Mechanical Design/Robotics & Mechatronics/Engineering Design from a recognized university or equivalent and 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR Masters/Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Production/Mechanical Design/Robotics & Mechatronics/Engineering Design from a recognized university
• Desirable: Conversant in product modelling and engineering softwares like SolidWorks, Ansys FEM/Catia/ProE, Cradle CFD/Siemens NX and dynamic simulation cum analysis software like ADAMs. Knowledge of Design & Analysis, Structural/Stress & Stability Analysis, Bulking Analysis of pressure enclosures or other structures

Project Associate-II (P-2607)

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Electrical and Electronics/Electrical from a recognized university or equivalent and 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR Masters/Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology in Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Electrical and Electronics/Electrical from a recognized university
• Desirable: Knowledge in Signal Processing, Analog & Digital Electronics. Handling of SBC interface and motor control device and communication using Arduino/Raspberry Pi micro controller. Knowledge of algorithms development and implementation real-time project. Proficiency in Python, Matlab, C++ Programming, HTML. Development of interface with different sensors/instruments and system Integration, use of third-party DLLs and other drivers etc. Field data survey & collection. Technical Report writing

Project Associate-II (P-2608)

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics/Electronics and Instrumentation/Electrical/Mechatronics/Computer Science/Electronics & Communication/Electrical & Electronics/Control System/Information Technology from a recognized University or equivalent and 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR Masters/Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology in Electronics/Electronics and Instrumentation/Electrical/Mechatronics/Computer Science/Electronics & Communication/Electrical & Electronics/Control System/Information Technology from a recognized University
• Desirable: Knowledge of Signal Processing, PCB Design, Electric motors, Power Electronic Converters, Motor controllers, Programming using Python/C++, MATLAB/SIMULINK based simulation

Salary/Stipend

• Project Assistant-II (P-2601): Rs. 20,000/- per month with increment of 15% after 3 years of experience in the same project
• Project Assistant-II (P-2602): Rs. 20,000/- per month with increment of 15% after 3 years of experience in the same project
• Project Technical Support-III (P-2603): Rs. 28,000/- per month
• Project Associate-I (P-2604): Rs. 31,000/- per month for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE OR National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent. Rs. 25,000/- per month for others
• Project Associate-II (P-2605): Rs. 35,000/- per month for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE OR National level examinations. Rs. 28,000/- per month for others
• Project Associate-II (P-2606): Rs. 35,000/- per month for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE OR National level examinations. Rs. 28,000/- per month for others

Age Limit (as on 21/01/2026)

• Maximum Age: 35 years for all positions
• Age Relaxation: Relaxation in age limit of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/WOMEN shall be 05 years. For OBC category candidates, relaxation is 03 years or as per the Government of India/CSIR rules
• Age Calculation Date: The date for determining the upper age limit will be the date of interview of the respective Post Code (21/01/2026)

Selection Process

• Selection will be based on Walk-in Interview conducted at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur on 21st January 2026
• The selections will be based on the performance and overall assessment of the candidates by the selection committee
• Candidates must appear at the walk-in interview with all their original certificates and mark sheets
• Self-attested photocopy of each certificate and a recent passport size photograph must be brought along with filled-in Application Form
• Application Form is available on the Institute website
• The result of the interview will be published on the institute's website or may also be communicated via email
• Hindi/English Language can be opted as a medium of communication during interview
• The selection process may continue till late evening/next day
• If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidates do not fulfil the eligibility criteria, their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever
• The decision of CSIR-CMERI in regard to the selection process will be final and binding to all concerned

General Information/Instructions

• Selected candidates will have the opportunity of hands-on training/exposure and to work closely with experienced team members
• Actual number of positions may vary on the date of the Interview
• Tenure as mentioned in the advertisement is tentative and liable to be curtailed/extended as per decision of the Competent Authority
• In any case, tenure is co-terminus with the project or till such time this requirement exists whichever is earlier
• Candidates who have already engaged in CSIR-CMERI or any other Lab/Institute of CSIR as a Trainee/Project Assistant/Project Fellow/JRF/SRF/Project Associate/Research Associate etc. for a period of 6 years or more are not eligible for these engagements
• Candidates who have engaged for a period less than 6 years, upon selection, their tenure will automatically end on completion of six years
• Selected Candidates will be engaged for above mentioned period of the respective project, which may also be curtailed or extended up to completion of project period or maximum six years, whichever is earlier
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in Interview
• Candidates are advised to come prepared accordingly as the selection process may continue till late evening/next day
• Candidates who are presently engaged in any project either in CSIR-CMERI or any other Labs/Institute of CSIR, should produce the NOC for appearing for the interview from Competent Authority, failing which, they will not be allowed to appear in the interview
• Offer of engagement to the selected candidates will be issued subject to availability of fund and approval of the Competent Authority
• No correspondence in this regard will be entertained by the Institute
• In case of any doubt/discrepancy of the Advertisement between Hindi and English version, the English version of the same will be treated as final
