Educational Qualification

• The applicant must be a woman resident of the identified slum or vulnerable cluster.
• She should preferably belong to the vulnerable group for which the ASHA is being selected.
• Preference will be given to married, widowed, divorced or separated women.
• The preferred age group is 25 to 45 years.
• The candidate should have communication and leadership skills.
• She should be fluent in the local language of the population she will serve.
• The minimum educational qualification is Class 10.

Age Limit

Candidates should preferably be between 25 and 45 years of age. The notification allows relaxation of the age and educational criteria if a suitable woman meeting the prescribed conditions is unavailable in the concerned area.

Salary

The notification does not specify the salary or honorarium payable to the selected ASHA workers.
