Experience Rules
- Experience is reckoned only from the date of obtaining the basic/essential qualification prescribed for the post (i.e., from the date of result publication of that qualification).
- Experience is counted only if in the relevant field – working experience in the advertised cadre/discipline in a Mining/Metal/Manufacturing industry, or in any other industry subject to submission of an Experience Certificate meeting HCL’s domain requirement (assessed at document verification).
- Applicants must upload at least 2 of the following for each employment: Appointment Letter, Pay Slip, Form-16, PF Statement, or Bank Statement (towards salary credit). Failure to do so leads to cancellation of candidature.

Selected candidates are entitled to the Consolidated Pay for their grade (see the table above), Employer’s PF Contribution, HRA, gratuity, medical benefits, leave encashment, and all other applicable benefits under HCL’s “Scheme for Engagement of Executives on Fixed Tenure Basis”.
HCL FTE Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection is based entirely on performance in the Personal Interview (PI) – 100% weightage. There is no written exam by default, though HCL reserves the right to conduct a written screening test to shortlist candidates for the interview, if required.
Zone of Consideration & Shortlisting
- Candidates are called for interview in the ratio of 1:5 (5 candidates per advertised vacancy); for a single vacancy, 10 candidates are shortlisted.
- If fewer than 5 applications are received for a post, the Selection Committee will assess and state the suitability of the interviewed candidates directly.
- Further shortlisting may be done from the eligible pool if posts remain vacant due to low turnout or an exhausted waitlist.
- Shortlisting criteria: 1 mark for each completed year of relevant experience beyond the minimum requirement (1/365 mark per additional day for incomplete years); 1 mark for each additional relevant degree over the minimum essential qualification, up to a maximum of 2 marks. HCL may add further criteria if required.
Document Verification
- Interview intimation is communicated by email only; call letters are issued to shortlisted candidates.
- Requests to change the interview/test date, time or venue once communicated will not be entertained.
- Candidates must bring an Original ID Card (Aadhaar, Driving Licence, or Voter ID) to the interview venue.
- Original documents (as listed under Documents Required below) will be verified at the interview; non-production of originals will debar the candidate from appearing.

- Fill in all mandatory details: qualifying degree details, exact percentage of marks (do not round off), email address, mobile number, correspondence address, and upload a scanned photograph and signature (JPEG) along with scanned qualification and experience documents.
- Submit the application to receive your Application Number.
- Print the Computer-Generated Online Application and the Acknowledgement Slip, and keep copies for your records.
Important: No hard copy of the application is accepted. Applications are screened purely on the information furnished online, without document verification at that stage, so candidates must ensure they genuinely meet all eligibility criteria before applying. Important Conditions
- Application Fee: General & OBC candidates pay a non-refundable ₹500/- processing fee; SC/PwBD candidates are exempted. Fee (plus applicable bank charges) must be paid only via Payment Gateway/NEFT online transfer through HCL’s website – no other remittance mode is accepted.
- Appointment is subject to the candidate being found medically fit by a Medical Authority prescribed by HCL Management.
- Travelling ticket fare (from the correspondence address to the interview venue) is reimbursed only for candidates who are actually interviewed; those found ineligible at document verification are not eligible for reimbursement.
- The services of the incumbent are purely temporary/contractual and do not confer any right or claim to regular employment, absorption, or regularization in HCL.
- Appointment remains provisional until caste/category certificates and other testimonials are verified; false claims lead to termination and possible further action.
- Category (SC/OBC-NCL) once declared in the online application cannot be changed, and no benefit of another category will be admissible during the process.
- Email ID and mobile number provided must remain active until the recruitment process is complete; the email ID cannot be changed once entered. All correspondence is via email only.
- Any canvassing, direct or indirect, disqualifies the candidature. Legal jurisdiction for any dispute is Kolkata only.
