Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum educational qualification: Ph.D. in Chemistry.
- Preference will be given to candidates having expertise in multi-step organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry and analytical techniques.
- Indian Nationals fulfilling the advertised criteria may attend the walk-in interview under the funded project.
Salary/Stipend
- Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 58,000/- per month.
- Additional 30% House Rent Allowance (HRA) is admissible on the consolidated emoluments.
- The position is under a funded project of Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
Age Limit
- Upper age limit: 35 years as on the last date of application.
- Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification and/or experience may be considered for candidates having qualification and experience higher than the advertised, with prior approval of the competent authority.

Selection Process
- Selection will be through a walk-in interview under the funded project.
- Where the number of candidates appearing for walk-in interview is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all eligible candidates.
- Based on recommendations of the Screening Committee and considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed, the number of candidates to be interviewed may be restricted to a reasonable limit.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.
- If a selected candidate does not join or resigns after joining, a waitlisted candidate may be offered the position.
General Information/Instructions
- The position is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation.
- The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in the funding agency or in IISER Pune.
- The appointment will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency applicable to the said project.
- The prescribed date for determining upper age limit, educational qualifications and experience shall be the date of walk-in interview.
- The prescribed educational qualification should have been obtained from recognized Universities/Institutions.
- The prescribed qualifications and/or experience are the bare minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be considered at every stage of the selection process.
- Number of posts may vary depending upon requirements during the selection process.
- No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication of any sort will be entertained.
- Bringing any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post.
- In case of ambiguity between English and other language versions of the advertisement, the English version shall be final.
How to Apply
- Indian nationals fulfilling the advertised criteria may attend the walk-in interview under the funded project.
- At the time of walk-in interview, applicants must bring a duly filled prescribed application form (link to download is provided below the advertisement link).
- Candidates must bring all originals and one set of self-attested photocopies of:
i. Certificate regarding date of birth.
ii. Mark sheets and certificates regarding educational qualification (starting from 10th onward).
iii. All certificates regarding experience as mentioned in the application form.
iv. One Government-issued photo identity proof. - Candidates must also bring one recent passport-size colour photograph.
- Candidates should report at the venue on the date and time specified for the walk-in interview.
