Age Limit (as on 01.09.2026)

  • Candidates should have completed 18 years of age.
  • Candidates should not have completed 35 years of age - i.e., should not have been born before 02.09.1991. Over-age candidates will be summarily rejected, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Selection is based on a Written-cum-Skill Test followed by Viva Voce, for a total duration of 60 minutes for the written-cum-skill component.

a. Written Examination (25 Marks, Minimum Qualifying Marks: 10)

25 Multiple Choice Questions (Objective type), each carrying 1 mark. Syllabus covers:

  • Windows and Linux Basics: Basic OS concepts, types of Operating Systems, file/folder management, user accounts and permissions, software installation and updates, basic Windows and Linux commands.
  • Networking: Basic networking concepts, LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, IP address, DNS and DHCP, switches/routers/firewalls, network cables and connectivity, basic network commands and troubleshooting, Internet and network security basics.
  • PDF and Document Handling and Processing: Creating and managing documents, document types and extensions, Office and Excel basics, PDF creation/conversion/merging/splitting, digital signatures, file naming/organisation/security.
  • Video Conferencing: Basic VC concepts, microphones/speakers/cameras/displays, audio and video configuration, WebEx/Microsoft Teams and other platforms, basic components and troubleshooting (hard and soft VC).
  • Hardware Troubleshooting: Basic computer hardware components, CPU/RAM/HDD/SSD/motherboard, printers/scanners/peripheral devices, hardware installation, backup procedures, basic fault identification and troubleshooting, preventive maintenance.
  • Internet Basics: Basic Internet concepts, web browsers and search engines, websites/URLs/DNS, email and attachments, Internet connectivity and Wi-Fi, cloud services, cyber security and safe Internet usage, phishing/malware/password security.

b. Skill Test (25 Marks, Minimum Qualifying Marks: 10)

Candidates' skills in computers will be tested on: Scanning and Converting Documents to OCR, Conversion of PDF to OCR, Handling LibreOffice, Configuring Local Area Network (IP Configurations), and Hardware Troubleshooting and Driver Installations.

For Viva Voce, candidates are shortlisted as per merit based on marks secured in the Written-cum-Skill Test, among qualified candidates, in the ratio of 1:3. In case of two or more candidates scoring equal marks at the cut-off, all such candidates are called for Viva Voce.

c. Viva Voce (Maximum Marks: 50, Minimum Qualifying Marks: 20)

The objective of the Viva Voce is to assess the suitability of candidates by judging their mental alertness, skills, attitude, ethics, character, and experience in Computer Skill, Computer Network, Database, OS, etc.

Preparation of Selection List

Final selection is based on the total marks secured in the Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce combined. In case of two or more candidates scoring equal total marks, the candidate senior in age is placed above in the merit list. Final selection is decided only after scrutiny and verification of original documents/testimonials.

  • Handling inquiries about case status, next date of hearing, and other case details.
  • Handling Video Conference (VC) appearance and assisting VC hearings.
  • Facilitating online applications for certified copies and other filings.
  • Facilitating e-Filing of petitions - from scanning hard-copy petitions, appending e-Signatures, uploading into CIS, and generating filing numbers.
  • Data entry work related to e-Services.
  • Assisting in online purchase of e-Stamp papers/e-Payments.
  • Helping applicants apply for and obtain Aadhaar-based digital signatures.
  • Publicising and assisting in downloading the eCourts Mobile App (Android and iOS).
  • Handling queries about Judges on leave, and the location/cause-list of a particular Court.

  1. Visit the official portal, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/esk_rec - applications submitted through any other mode (post, courier, Speed Post, e-mail, hand delivery, etc.) will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  2. Read the 'Notification' and 'Terms and Conditions' available on the portal and the respective District Court website thoroughly before applying, and ensure you fulfil all required qualifications.
  3. Use only a Desktop or Laptop to apply - the application module is not compatible with Smart Phones or Tabs.
  4. Register and fill in the online application form carefully; mere registering does not amount to a completed application.
  5. Select only one District to apply for - applying to more than one District leads to summary rejection in all Districts applied to.

  • Recruitment is made purely on merit basis.

  • Selected candidates are eligible for only 12 days of casual leave per year, with no sandwich leave permitted (e.g., if a national holiday falls on Thursday or Tuesday, leave cannot be taken on the adjoining Friday or Monday). Salary will be deducted for any absence or leave beyond the permissible leave.
  • Candidates should not claim any transfer from one District to another, and must attend the office irrespective of Court hours, including odd hours and Court holidays, if required.
  • No TA/DA is payable for attending the interview, or for attending an additional e-Sewa Kendra beyond the candidate's allotted one.
  • The Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce will be conducted at the campus of the Principal District Court of the concerned district, or any other place notified by the District Court - requests for change of venue will not be entertained.
