Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications
- Shift Manager (CE-07): Degree in Mining Engineering from Government approved institute having 1st class Mines Manager Certificate (Coal)
- Welfare Officer (CE-06): University degree with MBA (specialization in HR) or Master degree/PG Diploma in Social Science/Labour welfare/Personnel Management or any other qualification recognized by the Labour Ministry for the post of welfare officer in Mines
- Assistant Shift In charge (CE-06): Degree in Mining Engineering from Government Approved institute having 2nd class Mines Manager Certificate (Coal)
- Assistant Colliery Engineer (Electrical) (CE-06): Degree in Engineering in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics from Government Approved Institute
- Assistant Colliery Engineer (Mechanical) (CE-06): Degree in Engineering in Mechanical or Mining Machinery from Government Approved institute
- Assistant Safety Officer (CE-06): Degree in Mining Engineering from Government Approved institute having 2nd class Mines Manager Certificate (Coal)
- Overman Coal (All Categories) (CE-04): Diploma in Mining Engineering/Mining and Mine Surveying from recognised institute of repute with 2nd class Manager Certificate/Overman certificate of Competency under CMR issued by DGMS for Coal. Valid First Aid certificate
Essential Qualifications
- All essential qualifications should have been acquired from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC/AICTE/DGMS/Government of India, as applicable
- All Diploma in Engineering qualifications should be of 3 years duration and have been acquired from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC/AICTE/Government of India
- The prescribed qualifications and experience are mandatory and proof for the same has to be uploaded by the candidate during online application/registration and also to be produced during document verification
- Possession of higher qualification other than the essential qualification does not entitle eligibility for the post
Experience
- Shift Manager (CE-07): Minimum 07 years post qualification work experience in Coal Mining. Must have 03 years of experience after obtaining 1st class Mines Manager Certificate (Coal)
- Welfare Officer (CE-06): Minimum 04 years post qualification work experience in Mining sector
- Assistant Shift In charge (CE-06): Minimum 04 years post qualification work experience in open cast coal mines
- Assistant Colliery Engineer (Electrical) (CE-06): Minimum 04 years of post-qualification work experience in repair/maintenance/commissioning of electrical equipment in large open cast mines. Work experience in electrical substation shall be desirable
- Assistant Colliery Engineer (Mechanical) (CE-06): Minimum 04 years of post-qualification work experience in repair and maintenance of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery. Work experience in large opencast mines is desirable
- Assistant Safety Officer (CE-06): Minimum 04 years post qualification experience in open cast coal mines. Candidates who have served in a statutory capacity as Safety Officer in opencast coal mines will be desirable
- Overman Coal (Safety) (CE-04): Minimum 05 years post qualification work experience in Open cast coal Mine. Candidates with experience as Workmen's Inspector will be considered an added advantage
- Overman Coal (Production) (CE-04): Minimum 05 years post qualification work experience in Open cast coal Mine in statutory capacity as Overman. Experience in greenfield coal mining projects in India shall be considered an added advantage
- Overman Coal (Blasting) (CE-04): Minimum 05 years post qualification work experience in Open cast coal Mine in statutory capacity as Blasting Overman. Experience in greenfield coal mining projects in India shall be considered an added advantage
- Overman Coal (Shift) (CE-04): Minimum 05 years post qualification work experience in Open cast coal Mine in statutory capacity as Overman. Experience in greenfield coal mining projects in India shall be considered an added advantage
- Wherever applicable, candidates have to produce experience certificate as per DGMS approved format
Desirable
- Work experience in electrical substation for Assistant Colliery Engineer (Electrical)
- Work experience in large opencast mines for Assistant Colliery Engineer (Mechanical)
- Candidates who have served in a statutory capacity as Safety Officer in opencast coal mines for Assistant Safety Officer post
- Experience as Workmen's Inspector for Overman Coal (Safety)
- Experience in greenfield coal mining projects in India for Overman Coal (Production, Blasting, Shift) positions
Salary/Stipend
- CE-07 Grade (Shift Manager): Rs. 1,00,000/- per month (Consolidated)
- CE-06 Grade (Welfare Officer, Assistant Shift In charge, Assistant Colliery Engineer, Assistant Safety Officer): Rs. 80,000/- per month (Consolidated)
- CE-04 Grade (Overman Coal - All Categories): Rs. 60,000/- per month (Consolidated)
- The consolidated remuneration can be increased up to maximum 5% annually in subsequent years based upon performance
- The remuneration will be based on actual attendance and prorated deductions shall be made for absence
- Outpatient expenses for self-treatment at Rs. 35,000/- per annum will also be paid
- HRA will be paid as applicable
- In case of official tour, candidates will be eligible for TA/DA as applicable
- Covered by suitable Accidental Group Insurance for any accident occurred out of or in the course of employment during the period of contract
- Statutory deductions as applicable shall be made as per applicable laws
Age Limit (as on 17/02/2026)
- Maximum Age for CE-06 and CE-04 Grades: 50 Years
- Maximum Age for CE-07 Grade: 60 Years (maximum contract period)
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit can be relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBCs (Non-Creamy Layer) and for PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India Guidelines on the maximum age mentioned above
- The cut-off date for reckoning eligibility for age will be the last date for submitting online application i.e., 17/02/2026
- The date of birth as well as the name of the applicant will invariably be taken from Matriculation/10th class certificate issued by the recognized Board and no other proof of date of birth and name shall be accepted
Application Fee
- General/OBC/EWS Candidates: Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) - Non-refundable
- SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Departmental Candidates: Exempted from paying application fee (proof for the exemption is to be attached)
- The payment can be made by using UPI/credit card/online net banking through SBI Collect using Internet Banking integrated with online application
- Transaction charges, if any, will be borne by the candidate
- On successful completion of transaction, application form with Unique Transaction Number and Application number will be generated which is to be printed for record
- For failed transaction, the amount will be automatically refunded to the same account from which payment was originally made, within 10 working days
- Application fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted against any further notifications in case of cancellation or any other circumstances
Important Dates
Selection Process
- The mode of selection would be through Walk-in drive consisting of document verification and interview
- The Walk-in drive is planned to be conducted during 1st week of March 2026 at Ranchi, Jharkhand
- Selection will be made by duly constituted Committee through Walk-in-Interview to assess the suitability of eligible candidates after Document Verification
- Only those candidates will be permitted for Interview whose documents verification is found in order as per Notification
- The candidates who have registered successfully will be intimated through email and SMS only for attending the Walk-in-drive
- All successfully registered candidates will be issued admit card for attending walk in drive
- Candidates called for Walk-in drive should produce original documents/testimonials, along with self-attested photo copies, in support of essential criterions for verification of their eligibility as per notification
- In case the candidate is unable to produce/submit the required documents meeting eligible criterions, the candidate will not be permitted to attend the Interview and Travelling Allowance will not be reimbursed
- All the candidates will be issued call letter/admit card based on their declaration in the Online application, upon successful registration, without any initial scrutiny
- Mere issue of call letter/admit card does not indicate that the eligibility of the candidate has been confirmed
- The eligibility of the candidate will be confirmed after Document Verification at the time of Interview on production of original certificates with respect to date of birth, qualification, experience, caste category etc.
General Information/Instructions
- NMDC Limited is a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India
- The posts are for Tokisud North Coal Mine, Hazaribagh District, Jharkhand State on contractual basis
- The period of contract/engagement will be maximum up to three years initially or till the age of 60 years, whichever is earlier
- The initial agreed period can be extended based on performance and depending on the requirements
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen will be as per Government of India Directives
- The number of vacancies indicated is tentative and may vary depending upon the requirement
- The selected candidates must be medically fit for their selected area and will be subject to medical fitness test at the Company's authorized medical hospital/centre
- The engagement can be terminated by giving one month's notice on either side
- Once engaged, the candidate will not be allowed to take up any other assignment outside during the period of their engagement
- Candidates will be entitled for 12 days of Casual Leaves and 20 days of Medical Leave in a calendar year
- The un-availed Casual Leave and Medical Leaves in a year cannot be carried forward
- Encashment of Casual Leave and Medical Leaves are not permitted
- Candidates will be eligible for weekly day of rest and public holidays as per rules of the Company
- NMDC Management reserves the right to alter/fix the criteria for calling the candidates for Interview on the basis of qualification, experience, if any, etc. depending upon the number of applications received
- During recruitment process, if any information provided by the candidate is found incorrect/incomplete or it is not in conformity with eligibility criteria, candidature will be cancelled at any stage
- Mere fulfilling of the minimum criteria will not vest any right in candidates for being called for different stages of recruitment process
- The selected candidate will be posted in any of the Mines/Units/Offices of the Company as per requirements at any stage during service
- All Outstation candidates attended the Interview will be reimbursed Travelling Allowance of second AC Two Tier Rail/Bus fare on production of Railway/Bus tickets by shortest route as per rules
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS/PwBD/Ex-servicemen category should enclose a copy of caste/permanent Certificate as applicable in the prescribed proforma
- The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate submitted should be not older than 06 months as on the last date of application
- Candidates seeking reservation under EWS will have to submit an Income and Asset Certificate issued by the Competent Authority valid for the year 2025-26
- Category once filled in the application form will not be changed and no benefit of other category will be admissible later on
- Ex-servicemen are required to produce equivalence certificate of qualification acquired by them issued by the Competent Authority at the time of Interview
- Wherever CGPA/letter grade in a degree is awarded, equivalent percentage of marks should be indicated in the online application form as per the norms adopted by the University/Institute
- No interim correspondence will be entertained on any account during recruitment process
- Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply
- Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Hyderabad
