The Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) has officially released a recruitment notification for Assistant Lineman. Selection Process

Selection will be made through Computer Based Online Test followed by Document Checking.

• The online test will consist of two parts:
  • Part-I (Qualifying Test of Punjabi Language): 50 MCQs (mandatory). Minimum 50% marks (i.e., 25 marks) required to qualify. Failure in Part-I disqualifies the candidate irrespective of Part-II performance.
  • Part-II: 100 MCQs (Total 100 marks)
    • Questions related to the concerned discipline (Technical – Electrician/Wireman): 50
    • Punjabi Language Knowledge: 20
    • General Knowledge: 10
    • Reasoning: 10
    • Arithmetic: 10
• Duration of exam: 3 hours (180 minutes).
• All questions carry 1 mark each. No negative marking.
• Part-II will be bilingual (English/Punjabi) except Punjabi questions which will be only in Punjabi.
• Minimum qualifying marks in Part-II:
  • General Category: 25%
  • Reserve Category (SC/BC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen/FF/SP/PwD): 20%
• Merit List: Prepared on the basis of marks scored in Part-II only (after normalization if exam held in multiple shifts). For Sports Person category, final merit prepared by Director/Sports, Punjab as per Sports Gradation Policy.
• In case of tie, higher age candidate will be placed higher in merit.
• Candidates qualifying the online test will be called for Document Checking as per merit.
• Final selection panel will be prepared after successful document verification. Mere qualifying the test or appearing for document checking does not guarantee appointment.
• Selected candidates will undergo 6-month Classroom + On-the-Job Training.
• Probation period: 3 years (or as per Punjab Govt. instructions).

How to Apply

Application Mode: Online only through the official website of PSPCL. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Steps to Apply:

1. Visit www.pspcl.in → Click on “Recruitment” tab → “Recruitment for the post of Assistant Lineman against CRA 315/26”.
2. Click on NEW REGISTRATION (or REGISTERED CANDIDATE if already registered).
3. Fill Part-1 (Post Applied, Name, DOB, Father’s Name, Mobile, Email etc.) and verify OTP received on registered mobile/email.
4. Fill complete online application form, upload scanned Photograph (20-50 KB) & Signature (10-20 KB) as per specifications.
5. Accept Terms & Conditions and Self-declaration → Click Save and Preview → Submit.
6. After submission, proceed to Pay Fee link (Internet Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card).
7. After successful fee payment, login again → Check “Fee Status” (must show “Paid”).
8. Click PRINT APPLICATION FORM and retain the printout for future reference.
9. Candidates who have appeared in qualifying exam but result is awaited should write “RESULT AWAITED” in Year of Passing column but must possess the qualification by 06-05-2026.

General Instructions

• Cut-off date for determining eligibility (age, qualification, experience etc.) is 01-01-2026. Candidates must possess required qualifications upto last date of online application (06-05-2026).
• Only Punjab Domicile candidates are eligible for reservation benefits.
• Category once filled in online application cannot be changed later. Wrong category application will be rejected.
• Reservation for Women, Ex-Servicemen, PwD, EWS, Sports Person, Freedom Fighter as per Punjab Govt. rules.
• PwD candidates must possess minimum 40% benchmark disability as per Annexure-A.
• Candidates working in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU must produce No Objection Certificate at the time of joining.
• Mobile phones, electronic devices, ornaments etc. are strictly prohibited inside examination hall.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• PSPCL reserves the right to increase/decrease vacancies or cancel the entire recruitment without assigning any reason.
• All future communications (admit card, result, document checking schedule etc.) will be sent only through registered email ID and uploaded on www.pspcl.in. Candidates must keep their email and mobile active.
• In case of any ambiguity, decision of PSPCL shall be final and binding. Jurisdiction of any dispute shall be Local Courts at Patiala only.
• Action against misconduct: Candidates found using unfair means, impersonation, or furnishing false information will be disqualified and may face criminal prosecution.
