SCTIMST Research Associate I Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details 

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: M.Tech / M.E. / Ph.D in Engineering / Technology, with B.Tech in Biomedical / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or equivalent and at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
• Essential Experience: 3 years Research / Industrial / Academic experience after M.Tech / M.E.; for Ph.D candidates, experience is not essential.
• Desirable Experience: Experience in Research and Development on Medical Devices / Industrial / Academic experience such as Product Design, Finite element analysis, Computational fluid dynamics, Prototyping, Medical device development and testing, Quality system documentation.

Salary/Stipend

• Monthly emoluments: Rs.58,000/- + 18% HRA.

Age Limit 

• Maximum age limit: 35 years.

Selection Process

• The applications will be screened and eligible candidates will be called for an Interview to be conducted at the Biomedical Technology of the Institute at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 012.
• Intimation regarding the schedule of interview will be sent to the candidates’ email ID provided in the ONLINE application form.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of a qualifying nature may be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview.
• Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.

General Information/Instructions

• The recruitment is for the DBT funded project entitled “Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Devices” (P.8264).
• Eligible candidates are required to apply ONLINE through the Institute website and upload scanned copies of certificates to prove age, qualifications, experience and a valid caste certificate (for SC candidates) / non-creamy layer certificate (for OBC candidates) in the prescribed format applicable for employment in Central Government Institutions.
• The caste / non-creamy layer certificate must be issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar.
• Experience wherever prescribed means experience gained after acquiring the prescribed essential qualification.
• The project duration is initially for a period of 6 months, likely to be extended up to 13.12.2026.
