As per Government Order No. 48 dated 5 June 2023, the Tax and Revenue Inspector post in the Urban Development Department is identified for the disability sub-categories OA, OL, LV/PB, HH/PD, Deaf, LC, Dw, and AAV/AV. Candidates from other sub-categories of Divyangjan are not eligible to apply against the unreserved posts for this recruitment.

UKPSC Tax and Revenue Inspector Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Mandatory qualification: A Bachelor's Degree from a university established by law in India.
  • Preferential qualification (advantage given if all else is equal): Candidates who have either
    • served in the Territorial Army for a minimum of two years, or
    • obtained a National Cadet Corps (NCC) "B" or "C" certificate.

Additionally, under the applicable qualification rules, only one of the following conditions needs to be satisfied by the candidate (as detailed in the notification): passing High School and Intermediate (or equivalent) from a recognized institution in Uttarakhand, OR being registered with an Employment Exchange located in Uttarakhand, OR falling under specific service/residency exceptions listed in the notification for personnel serving in the armed forces, state/central government establishments, or permanent residents of Uttarakhand living outside the state for study/livelihood.

Negative Marking

The objective-type examination follows a negative marking scheme:

  • For each wrong answer, one-fourth (1/4) of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.

UKPSC Tax and Revenue Inspector Reservation Details

Reservation is applicable only to candidates who are permanent residents (domicile) of Uttarakhand, in categories including Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, Ex-servicemen, Freedom Fighter dependents, Divyang (PwD), Uttarakhand Women, Uttarakhand orphans, skilled sportspersons, and identified Uttarakhand State Andolankari or their dependents, as per prevailing government orders. Reservation is granted only if the candidate specifically claims the relevant category/sub-category in the online application form.

  • Skilled sportsperson horizontal reservation: 4%, applicable as per medal/participation level defined in the notification (Olympic, World Cup/World Championship/Asian Games, Commonwealth Games/Asian Championship, Commonwealth Championship/International University Games, National Games/recognized national championships, and Uttarakhand state-level championships).
  • State Andolankari (movement participant) horizontal reservation: 10%.

Documents Required for UKPSC Tax and Revenue Inspector Recruitment

As per the checklist (Appendix-8) in the notification, candidates should keep self-attested copies of the following ready for document verification:

  • Copy of the online application form
  • Detailed application form (Form No. 2), duly filled by the candidate
  • Certification form (Form No. 3)
  • Declaration form (Form No. 4)
  • High School certificate
  • Graduation degree
  • Final year/semester mark sheet of graduation
  • Certificates related to preferential qualification, if applicable (Territorial Army service certificate or NCC "B"/"C" certificate)
  • Vertical reservation certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), if applicable, issued in the prescribed format by the competent authority
  • Horizontal reservation certificate (freedom fighter dependent/Uttarakhand woman/ex-serviceman/orphan child/state andolankari or dependent/skilled sportsperson/disability certificate), if applicable
  • Affidavit (for state andolankari category, confirming no prior benefit taken under this quota)
  • Permanent residence certificate, if applicable
  • No Objection Certificate from employer, if currently employed under central/state government or a public undertaking

Note: Mark sheets alone are not accepted by UKPSC as proof of passing an exam in place of the original certificate/degree; a provisional certificate must be submitted where the final certificate/degree has not yet been issued.

How to Apply Online for UKPSC Tax and Revenue Inspector Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official UKPSC website: psc.uk.gov.in or pscuk.net.in.
  2. Carefully read the full advertisement, then go to the "How to Apply" section on pscuk.net.in and review the Advertisement Details, Important Dates, and Instructions for filling the online application form.
  3. Click the "Apply Now" button.
  4. Fill in the Registration Form with accurate personal details and create a password for login, then click Submit.
  5. Review the Basic Information displayed. If correct, tick "I have verified all the details entered by me..." and submit; if incorrect, select "No, I want to change some details," edit, and resubmit.
  6. After Primary Registration is completed, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile number and email. Click "Click here to login."
  7. After logging in, fill in Educational Details (High School, Intermediate, Graduate, and other qualifications) one at a time using "Add Education Details." Entries can be edited or deleted from the grid if incorrect.
  8. Click Continue, then upload your photo and signature as per the specified guidelines. Re-upload is possible using the "I want to upload photo and signature" checkbox.
  9. Tick the declaration confirming the photo and signature are accurate, then click Continue.
  10. Review all the data displayed on screen carefully. Use "Back & Edit" to correct any mistakes.
  11. Once satisfied, tick the final declaration and click the Final Submit button to complete the online application.
  12. Click "Print Application" to download/print a copy of the submitted application for your own records.

Application Cancellation

If an error is found after final submission, a candidate can cancel the submitted application using the "Cancel My Application" button, confirm the declaration, verify via OTP sent to the registered mobile number, and then reapply. However, the fee already paid for the cancelled application will not be refunded, and no claim will be accepted later regarding a cancelled application.

Correction/Edit Facility

  • The Edit/Correction link will open 5 working days after the online application closes, and will remain active for 10 days (12 August 2026 to 21 August 2026, as per the Important Dates table).
  • Only candidates who completed the application process can log in using their email ID and password to make corrections.
  • All fields can be corrected except the mobile number and email ID.
  • If a candidate changes category/sub-category during correction, the fee difference (if any) as per the notification will be payable; no fee is charged for correcting other entries.
  • Fees already paid will not be refunded.
  • No request for correction will be entertained after this one-time correction window closes.

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Candidates must fill in all details regarding vertical and horizontal reservation categories/sub-categories in the online application; no reservation benefit will be given if not claimed.
  • All required educational and reservation certificates must be held by the candidate up to the last date of the online application.
  • Only one application per candidate is allowed; multiple applications by the same candidate will all be rejected.
  • Candidates using fake certificates (educational, age, experience, reservation, etc.) can be debarred from this and all future UKPSC examinations for up to 5 years, along with possible legal action.
  • Admit cards will not be sent by post; they will be available only for download from the UKPSC website using the registration number and date of birth.
  • No request for change of examination centre will be entertained once allotted.
  • Calculators or any calculating device are not allowed in the written examination.
  • Use of mobile phones, cameras, pagers, scanner pens, Bluetooth devices, or any communication device is strictly prohibited inside the examination centre.
