UKSSSC Scaler Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection is completed in two stages: a qualifying Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by a written competitive examination.
Stage 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Qualifying Standards
- Only candidates who clear the Race are permitted to attempt the Shot Put, Long Jump and High Jump events.
- Candidates get up to 3 attempts in each event to meet the qualifying standard.
- The PST/PET is purely qualifying (no marks are carried forward); candidates found unfit or unable to meet the standards are declared disqualified from the selection process.
- Only candidates successful in the PST and PET are admitted to the written competitive examination.
Stage 2: Written Competitive Examination
- 100 marks, Objective Type Multiple Choice, offline mode, 2-hour duration; questions relate to the educational qualification prescribed for the post.
- Syllabus (Annexure-1) is published separately on the Commission’s website, sssc.uk.gov.in.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for UR/EWS/OBC candidates; 35% for SC/ST candidates – candidates below this are treated as failed in the written exam.
- Each MCQ has 4 answer options; 1/4th mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Marking more than one option for a question is treated as a wrong answer and penalized the same way, even if one of the marked options is correct. Unattempted questions carry no penalty.
- Using whitener or scratching/cutting an option on the OMR sheet is prohibited and invites negative marking. An incorrectly filled roll number or booklet series on the OMR sheet means that OMR sheet will not be evaluated, and the candidature is automatically rejected.
- Merit list: Prepared based on marks obtained in the written exam. Ties are resolved first by age (older candidate ranked higher), then by English alphabetical order of name.
- Document verification (Abhilekh Sannirikshan) is a mandatory part of the process after the written exam, where all reservation, educational, preferential and experience-related claims are verified against the service rules; absence at document verification leads to rejection of candidature.
- Answer keys are published on the Commission’s website after the exam; candidates may raise objections within the notified window by paying Rs. 50 per question objected to. Offline or late objections are not considered.
