AIBE 21 Overview 2026
The All India Bar Examination (AIBE XXI or AIBE 21) is a national-level qualifying examination conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) to assess the eligibility of law graduates to practice law in Indian courts. Successful candidates are awarded the Certificate of Practice, which is mandatory for enrolment as an advocate and appearing in courts across India.
AIBE 21 will be conducted in offline, pen-and-paper mode. The exam consists of 100 objective-type (multiple-choice) questions covering various core law subjects. There is no negative marking. Candidates need to secure a minimum of 40% marks (General/OBC) or 35% marks (SC/ST) to qualify and receive the Certificate of Practice.

AIBE 21 Registration Fee 2026
- General / OBC category: ₹3,500 (inclusive of bank charges)
- SC / ST category: ₹2,500 (inclusive of bank charges)
Payment can be made online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. Some registration portals may also offer offline payment via bank challan at designated branches. The fee is non-refundable.
Eligibility Criteria for AIBE 21
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree from a BCI-recognized law college/university. Final-year LLB students (without backlogs) are also eligible as per current BCI rules.
- Enrollment Status: Open to:
- Law graduates already enrolled with any State Bar Council
- Candidates awaiting enrollment or provisional certificate
- Those who have not yet obtained or have surrendered their enrollment certificate
- Age Limit: No upper age limit
- Number of Attempts: No restriction – candidates can appear multiple times until they qualify
- Nationality: Indian citizens (as per BCI guidelines)
Final-year students and those yet to enroll are advised to check the latest official notification on the AIBE website for any specific conditions or relaxations.
Documents Required for AIBE Registration 2026
The following documents must be scanned and uploaded in the prescribed format (usually JPG/JPEG, size limit 100–500 KB) during AIBE 21 registration:
- Recent passport-size photograph (white background preferred)
- Scanned signature (in blue or black ink on white paper)
- LLB degree certificate or provisional certificate
- Semester-wise or year-wise LLB mark sheets
- State Bar Council enrollment certificate or enrollment number (if already enrolled)
- Valid government-issued photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or Passport)
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC) or EWS certificate (if claiming fee relaxation or reservation)
- Disability certificate (for PwD candidates claiming relaxation)
Steps to Fill Out the AIBE XXI 2026 Application Form
- Visit the official website: allindiabarexamination.com and click on the “AIBE 21 Registration 2026” or “New Registration” link.
- Register by providing a valid email ID and mobile number. You will receive login credentials (registration ID and password).
- Log in and complete the application form with:
- Personal details (name, date of birth, gender, category, address)
- Academic qualifications (LLB college, university, year of passing)
- State Bar Council enrollment details (if enrolled)
- Select preferred exam city/centre from the list of 50+ cities across India.
- Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, and required documents in the specified format and size.
- Pay the application fee online and verify the payment status.
- Review all entered details, submit the form, and download/print the filled application form and fee receipt for future reference.
Take a printout of the confirmation page and keep it safe. Use the application correction window (up to 3 May 2026) if any changes are needed.
