The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), an autonomous organisation under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is engaging 1 Associate (Northeast Region) on contract at its head office in New Delhi. Qualification and Experience

• Essential: MBA in Agribusiness Management/ Marketing/ International Business/ Entrepreneurship.
• Essential: Minimum 3 years of experience in related field.
• Desirable: Experience in training/ capacity building.
• Desirable: Engagement with startups, FPOs etc.
• Desirable: Conducting events.

Age Limit

The notice prints an upper age limit of 50 years for the position of Associate. It does not print a minimum age, an age cut-off date or any age relaxation.

Remuneration

The remuneration is inclusive of all applicable taxes, and no other facility or allowance will be allowed. While on tour, TA/DA is admissible to officials at Pay Level 10 of the Central Government.

Selection Process

The notice says only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for the interview. Mere submission of an application does not give any right to be called for interview. The notice does not describe the shortlisting method or how the interview is conducted.

Terms of Engagement

• The engagement is at the level of Associate and is purely on a contractual basis.
• The engagement is initially for one year, including a probation period of three weeks. It may be extended year-to-year depending on performance evaluation. After three years no further extension is permissible under any circumstances.
• The period of engagement commences from the date of joining at APEDA. It confers no claim or right to subsequent engagement or employment with APEDA or any other Government Department.
• Working hours are normally 9.00 AM to 5.30 PM on working days, including a half-hour lunch break. In exigencies of work the Associate may be required to sit late and to work on Saturday, Sunday and other holidays.
• The Associate is eligible for 20 days of leave in a year on pro-rata basis, with prior written approval of the controlling officer. Un-availed leave cannot be carried forward. Leave up to one month without remuneration can be considered with prior approval.
• A female Associate may be eligible for maternity leave as per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.
• The engagement can be terminated at any time by APEDA with 30 days' notice or pay in lieu. The Associate may also resign after giving similar notice.

Important Instructions

• The competent authority may cancel any application or candidature at its discretion, and no correspondence will be entertained.
• Wrong declaration or false information leads to cancellation of candidature at any stage. If documents are found false after engagement, the engagement will be terminated immediately.
• APEDA may require a Statement of Good Health from a recognised physician before work starts.
• Before engagement, the Associate must submit a police verification report from the concerned police station and a medical-cum-fitness certificate from an authorised Medical Practitioner.
• The Associate will be governed by the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and must not use APEDA's name, emblem or official seal without prior written permission.
• In case of death, injury or illness while serving APEDA, the Associate or next of kin is not entitled to any compensation or appointment.
• The Associate must comply with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
