Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned specialty from institutions recognized by MCI/NMC for Assistant Professor (Broad Specialties i.e., Clinical and Non-Clinical). PG Degree (DNB/DrNB/DM/MCh) in the concerned super specialty from institutions recognized by MCI/NMC for Assistant Professor (Super Specialty).
- Lateral Entry Specific Eligibility: Assistant Professors in broad specialties working in Directorate of Medical Education, Civil Assistant Surgeons working in the Directorate of Public Health & Family Welfare or Directorate of Secondary Health (APVVP) are only eligible to apply. Candidate shall be an approved probationer or should have completed the probation period in the cadre of CAS/Assistant Professor. There shall not be any disciplinary charges pending against the candidate and shall not be in unauthorized absence.
- Candidates already working as Assistant Professors under Director of Medical Education are not eligible for same specialty.
- For Lateral Entry applicants: Submit NOC from HoD in prescribed format (Annexure-IV). Do not require Senior Residency; after selection, posted as Senior Resident for one year, then appointed as Assistant Professor.

- Merit list prepared based on the rank given by the respective appointing authority at the time of recruitment as CAS/Assistant Professor.
- Selection list prepared based on merit and the rule of reservation applicable to promotions as per AP State and Subordinate Service Rules.
- Rule of Reservation applicable to promotions adhered to in recruitment through lateral entry.
- Reservations: Vertical for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes; Horizontal for Women and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PBD) as per relevant G.O.s and AP State and Subordinate Service Rules.
- Decision of APMSRB final in all respects.
