Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a recognized Medical College/University
- Candidates must have passed MBBS Part-I, Part-II, and Part-III examinations
- Medical Registration Certificate is mandatory
- Candidates who have completed FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) conducted by NBE are also eligible
- Candidates with PG Degree/Diploma, Ph.D., DM, or DCH qualifications are eligible to apply
Essential Qualifications
- Valid Medical Registration Certificate is compulsory
- Candidates must possess MBBS passing certificate
- All MBBS marksheets including failure marksheets (if any) must be available
- MBBS Attempt Certificate is required
- Candidates currently in service must provide No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer
Desirable
- Experience in relevant medical field (if any)
- PG Degree/Diploma in Medical Sciences
- FMGE qualification for foreign medical graduates
- Ph.D./DM/DCH qualifications
Application Fee
- For All Categories (UR/EWS/EBC/BC/SC/ST/DQ): Rs. 2,250/- (Two Thousand Two Hundred Fifty only)
- Additional processing charges will be applicable for online payment

- Once paid, the counselling fee will not be refunded under any circumstances

Selection Process
- Selection will be based on merit list prepared according to MBBS marks obtained
- Merit calculation will consider marks from MBBS Part-I, Part-II, and Part-III examinations
- Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for Unreserved category
- 80% weightage for total marks obtained and 20%/10% for other criteria (as per government norms)
- Counselling will be conducted based on the merit list
- Document verification will be conducted during counselling
- Final selection will be subject to verification of all original certificates
- Merit list will be published on the official website
- Candidates must participate in the counselling process as per schedule
General Information/Instructions
- This is a tenure post for Junior Resident under Health Department, Government of Bihar
- Only online applications will be accepted through the official website
- Hard copy of application form need not be sent to the Board's office
- Candidates must bring the application form at the time of counselling
- After final submission, no changes or modifications will be allowed in the application
- Applications cannot be withdrawn after submission
- Paid counselling fee is non-refundable under any circumstances
- Candidates must fill the reservation category carefully as per Bihar state rules
- Board will not be responsible for any interruption in Internet/Banking system
- Candidates should not wait till the last date to complete the application process
- Mobile number and email address cannot be changed after verification

- Step 1 - Registration:

- Click on "Online Portal of Junior Resident under Health Dept." link
- Click on "Apply for Junior Resident" link
- Read all instructions carefully
- Fill all information correctly in the Online Application Form
- Use your own or parents' email address and mobile number
- Verify the verification code sent to mobile and email
- After successful registration, you will receive Registration Number and Password
- Keep your password confidential
- Step 2 - Multi-Step Application Form:
- (a) Personal Information: Sign in to your account, fill required personal information, click "Save & Continue"
- (b) Contact Details: Submit Permanent and Correspondence Address, click "Save & Continue"
- (c) Educational Information: Submit all educational details, click "Save & Continue"
- (d) Upload Photo & Signature: Upload scanned copy of high contrast color photograph and signature, click "Save & Continue"
- Step 3 - Application Preview & Final Submit:
- Check all entries provided in Step-1 and Step-2
- If any anomalies found, click "Back to Edit" and rectify
- After rectification, click "Save & Continue"
- If all information is correct, click "Final Submit & Proceed to Payment"
- Give declaration and proceed to payment
- Step 4 - Payment of Counselling Fee:
- Pay Rs. 2,250/- through online mode only
- Payment options: Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI
- Additional processing charges will be applicable
- If payment fails but amount debited, re-pay the full fee
- Failed transaction will be refunded in due course

- After successful payment, download Confirmation Page and Fee Receipt
- Re-verify all entries on confirmation page
- If discrepancy found, correct during editing period (07/02/2026 to 08/02/2026)
