Bihar Police BPSSC Havildar Clerk Recruitment 2026: Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission (BPSSC) has released the official notification for Havildar Clerk (Direct Recruitment) in Bihar Home Guard under Home Department (Special), Govt. of Bihar. A total of 64 posts are available. Eligible candidates with 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent qualification can submit online applications from 02 January 2026 to 02 February 2026 through the official website bpssc.bihar.gov.in. Selection involves written examination, physical standard test (PST), physical efficiency test (PET), document verification, and merit list. Age limit is 18 to 37 years (with relaxations for reserved categories), and application fee is ₹100 for all candidates.
Payment must be made using Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card.
The fee includes the requisite application fee + applicable transactional charges of the bank.
After successful payment, you will receive a confirmation SMS with Registration ID (which serves as Application ID).

The amount paid is non-refundable.
No changes can be made to the registration form after submission.

Age Limit (as on 01-08-2025)
Unreserved (General) category males: minimum age 18 years and maximum age 37 years and for females minimum age 18 years and maximum age 40 years.
Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class males and females and Transgender candidates: minimum age 18 years and maximum age 40 years.
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe males and female candidates: minimum age 18 years and maximum age 42 years.
For those Bihar government servants to join higher pay scale service/cadre: maximum age limit relaxation of 05 years, who have completed minimum three years period in regular service.
Candidate's age will be calculated on the basis of date of birth mentioned in Matric or equivalent examination certificate.
Selection Process
Written competitive examination and physical efficiency test process will be adopted.
Written Examination: The level of written examination will be of Bihar School Examination Committee 10th class (Matric) or equivalent level. Written examination will have objective questions from 1. Hindi, 2. English, 3. Mathematics, 4. Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), 5. Science (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany), 6. General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Written examination will be of 100 marks.
Question Paper: Two hours one question paper will have total 100 questions. In which one (01) mark will be given for each correct answer.
OMR/Answer Booklet: OMR/Answer booklet will be in two copies out of which one copy will be kept safe as invisible carbon copy with the commission for one year after publication of final selection list.
Candidates scoring less than 30 percent in written examination will be declared failed for physical efficiency/qualification test.
On the basis of marks obtained in written examination as far as possible advertised vacancies reservation category wise 05 (five) times candidates of each category will be selected for physical efficiency test. In case of non-availability of sufficient number of qualified candidates for physical check, the ratio of candidates can be suitably reduced by the commission.
Written examination will not be basis of final merit list. Written examination will only be qualifying for physical efficiency test.
Physical Efficiency Test: Physical efficiency test will be organized for eligible candidates on the basis of written competitive examination organized by the commission.
Process, items and level of physical efficiency test will be same as prescribed for constable post in Bihar Police.
Physical efficiency test will be of total 100 (one hundred) marks. No marks will be given for height and chest but candidates not fulfilling prescribed qualifications will be declared failed.
Running - maximum 50 marks
For all category males: 1 (one) mile (1.6 km) maximum time: 6 minutes.
Less than 5 minutes: 50 marks
5 minutes to 5 minutes 20 seconds: 40 marks
5 minutes 20 seconds more and up to 5 minutes 40 seconds: 30 marks
5 minutes 40 seconds more and up to 6 minutes: 20 marks
Male candidates taking more than 6 minutes will be declared failed.
For all category females: 1 (one) kilometer maximum time: 5 minutes.
Less than 4 minutes: 50 marks
4 minutes to 4 minutes 20 seconds: 40 marks
4 minutes 20 seconds more and up to 4 minutes 40 seconds: 30 marks
4 minutes 40 seconds more and up to 5 minutes: 20 marks
Female candidates taking more than 5 minutes will be declared failed.
Shot Put - maximum 25 marks
For all category males: 16 pound shot minimum 16 (sixteen) feet throw.
16 feet to 17 feet: 09 marks
17 feet more and 18 feet: 13 marks
18 feet more and 19 feet: 17 marks
19 feet more and 20 feet: 21 marks
20 feet more: 25 marks
Male candidates throwing less than 16 (sixteen) feet will be declared failed.
For all category females: 12 pound shot minimum 12 (twelve) feet throw.
12 feet to 13 feet: 09 marks
13 feet more and 14 feet: 13 marks
14 feet more and 15 feet: 17 marks
15 feet more and 16 feet: 21 marks
16 feet more: 25 marks
Female candidates throwing less than 12 (twelve) feet will be declared failed.
High Jump - maximum 25 marks
For all category males: minimum height 4 (four) feet
04 feet: 13 marks
04 feet 4 inch: 17 marks
04 feet 8 inch: 21 marks
05 feet: 25 marks
Male candidates jumping less than 4 (four) feet will be declared failed.
For all category females: minimum height 3 (three) feet
03 feet: 13 marks
03 feet 4 inch: 17 marks
03 feet 8 inch: 21 marks
04 feet: 25 marks
Female candidates jumping less than 3 (three) feet will be declared failed.
For Kinnaur/Kothi/Hijda/Transgender (Third Gender) candidates physical standards and physical efficiency test standards will be same as backward class candidates.
Candidates completing run in prescribed time (6 minutes for males and 5 minutes for females) but not fulfilling minimum prescribed criteria in shot put/high jump competitions will be declared failed and such candidate will not be given opportunity to participate in other competitions. Candidate has to be successful separately in all competitions. Maximum three chances will be given only in shot put and high jump.
