Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen
- Gender: Male, Female, and Third Gender candidates can apply
- Educational Qualification: Graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent examination recognized by Bihar State Government as on 01-08-2025
- Essential Qualification: Bachelor's degree completion is mandatory by the cut-off date
- Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi language
Salary/Stipend
- Selected candidates will be appointed at Level-6 pay scale as per Bihar Government pay structure
- The salary structure will be as per state government norms and regulations
- Other allowances and benefits as applicable to state government employees will be provided
Age Limit (as on 01-08-2025)
- Unreserved (General) Category Male: Minimum 20 years, Maximum 37 years
- Unreserved (General) Category Female: Minimum 20 years, Maximum 40 years
- Backward Class (BC) and Extremely Backward Class (EBC) - Male & Female: Minimum 20 years, Maximum 40 years
- Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) - Male & Female: Minimum 20 years, Maximum 42 years
- Bihar Government Employees: 5 years age relaxation for competing in higher pay scale services (minimum 3 years regular service required)
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years plus actual service period relaxation (maximum age on cut-off date should not exceed 57 years)
- Age Calculation: Based on Matriculation or equivalent certificate birth date
Application Fee
- All Categories (Male/Female/Third Gender): Rs. 100/- (One Hundred Rupees Only)

Selection Process
- Stage 1 - Preliminary Examination: 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours duration covering General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Minimum 30% marks required. Candidates selected will be 20 times the number of vacancies category-wise
- Stage 2 - Main Examination: Two papers
- Paper I: General Hindi - 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours (Qualifying - 30% minimum, marks not counted in merit)
- Paper II: General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics and Mental Aptitude - 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours
- Stage 3 - Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates selected will be 6 times the vacancies based on Main Exam marks
- Running: 1 mile (1.6 km) in 6 minutes 30 seconds for men; 1 km in 6 minutes for women
- High Jump: Minimum 4 feet for men; 3 feet for women
- Long Jump: Minimum 12 feet for men; 9 feet for women
- Shot Put: 16 pounds shot minimum 16 feet for men; 12 pounds shot minimum 10 feet for women
- Maximum 3 attempts allowed for High Jump, Long Jump and Shot Put
- Negative Marking: 0.2 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in both stages
- Final Merit List: Based on Main Examination marks with minimum qualifying marks - SC/ST/Women: 32%, EBC: 34%, BC: 36.5%, General: 40%
- Normalization: Equi-Percentile Method will be used for multi-session/multi-set examinations
Physical Standards
- Height Requirements:
- Unreserved (UR) and BC Male: Minimum 165 cm
- EBC, SC, ST Male: Minimum 160 cm
- All category Females: Minimum 155 cm
- Chest Measurement (Male only):
- UR/BC/EBC Male: Unexpanded - 81 cm, Expanded - 86 cm (minimum 5 cm expansion required)
- SC/ST Male: Unexpanded - 79 cm, Expanded - 84 cm (minimum 5 cm expansion required)
- Not applicable for females
- Weight: Minimum 48 kg for all category female candidates
- Third Gender: Physical standards same as Backward Class category
- Candidates not meeting prescribed standards will be declared unsuccessful
General Information/Instructions
- Only one online application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to rejection of all applications
- Candidates must have a valid and active mobile number and email ID registered in their name for the entire recruitment process
- Registration ID and Password will be sent via SMS and email after successful registration
- Candidates must upload recent color photograph (white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format) taken within 2 months
- Signature required in both English and Hindi (black/blue ink, white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format)
- Candidates must ensure all details match their Matriculation certificate exactly
- Wrong category selection will lead to candidature cancellation
- 35% horizontal reservation for women applicable only to original residents of Bihar State
- Reservation benefits applicable only to Bihar State domicile candidates
- EWS certificate based on income and assets for financial year 2024-2025 will be acceptable
- Medical examination and character/antecedent verification will be conducted before appointment
- Pregnant married women candidates will not be allowed to participate in running and PET and will be declared unsuccessful
- Selection process may take approximately 6 months to complete
- Admit cards will be issued online and candidates will be informed through newspapers, website, SMS and email
- Commission reserves the right to cancel candidature at any stage without assigning reasons for violation of terms

- Login with Registration Number and Password
- Fill in all required details: Father/Husband name, Mother name, Address, Educational qualification
- Upload recent color photograph (white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format)
- Upload signature in English and Hindi separately (black/blue ink, white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format)
