CBSE Class 9 Syllabus 2026-27
CBSE Class 9 Syllabus 2026-27 has been officially released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the academic session 2026-27 on the CBSE Academic website. It is fully aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023, focusing on competency-based learning, conceptual understanding, real-life applications, Indian Knowledge Systems, and reduced rote memorization.
The syllabus applies to the annual examination for Class 9. Most subjects carry 80 marks for the annual exam + 20 marks for internal assessment (Periodic Assessment, Multiple Assessment, Portfolio, Subject Enrichment/Practical). The curriculum promotes deeper understanding, logical reasoning, and interdisciplinary connections.

Languages (Group-L) in CBSE Class 9 Syllabus 2026-27
CBSE follows the Three-Language Formula under NEP 2020. Students usually study three languages. English is commonly chosen as one. Hindi and Urdu have Course A/B options.
Note: From 2026-27, English Communicative has been discontinued. Only one English course is available.
